Every salon I used to go to would always close down. I went to Hair Cuttery in Piscataway until it became no more. I stumbled upon this location when searching for salons online and after I saw the reviews I decided to book. I booked with Diana and I was so pleased! We discussed what I wanted to do before and during the cut. She made sure I was ok with how it was turning out at each step (such as my bangs, my layers, etc.) I have curly hair and my cut looks great. I look forward to being a repeat customer.

I walked in here over a week ago, asking for someone who could work with curly hair. Jennifer came up to meet me. She took her time asking me questions, touching my hair, and gave me her opinion. I made an appointment for the next day. We spoke again and she actually had thought more about it and suggested a different plan for the look I wanted. I liked that she put thought into my hair and was able to reconsider layers so she could give me what I wanted and not what she thinks I should have. I wanted shorter hair which is risky, but especially due to the upcoming humid weather. She needed to cut it short but in a way that I would not have to straighten it so I could wear it natural. I’m a pain basically. But, She listened to all of my concerns and was honest about what I could expect. In the salon, there was a nice vibe as well. I’ve been to places where it was obvious that the stylist did not get along or help each other. In this salon 2 other stylist commented on my hair and spoke to Jennifer about how nice her work was coming out. They all joked with each other and seemed to support one another. Which I liked as well. I will definitely be coming back to see Jennifer for regular blow outs and to see what fun ideas she has for me in the fall. I loved the cut. Still have not worn it natural but soon when it’s too hot, I will. I plan on bringing my daughter as well. Thank you for your time.

Before entering the salon I was looking forward to a change in my hairstyle and had an idea in mind for how short I wanted my hair to be. I waited around 15 minutes after my appointment time to be seated. After I was in the salon chair, I immediately pointed out how short I wanted my hair to be cut, and then even provided a photo reference. The lady cutting my hair was sweet, but I don’t think she was completely listening to my request. She started trimming my hair from the back and when she made her way to the front I told her that i’d still like to go shorter, because I couldn’t see much of a difference at all in my hair length. She then told me that she had to leave in 5 minutes, which surprised me because she had barely even cut my hair. I was sitting in that chair for 10 minutes, less time than I was waiting for my appointment, and didn’t get a proper hair cut and so I was very disappointed leaving the store. I felt that the service was unprofessional and rushed.
