Critical: ValueHair by Sebo is the only salon I’ve used for cuts and trims for the past five years. That’s why I’m SO upset about my last experience there a few days ago. I stopped by the salon to ask for a tutorial on how to manage curly hair (I’ve been straightening mine for the past 20 years). I said I did not want a cut or a blowout. I told them I was not going to buy any products because I’ve already spent a small fortune on a ton of curly hair products. I simply wanted to learn how much product I should be using, how to scrunch and how to style in more than just a ponytail. The man at the register said that I would be spending between $20-$25 and that there was a cancellation later that day. When the stylist saw me, he insisted on a trim before doing anything else. I reluctantly agreed, knowing I’ve been putting a trim off for about a year. My hair was rinsed, he gave me a trim of maybe an inch or so, and then said he would just diffuse my hair. At the end of the hour, I told they were charging me $55. I said, “From $20-$25?’. I was told that “It’s less than other places would charge.” I honestly feel like I’ve been conned. I am SO highly upset about this that I will never recommend this salon to anyone else and will not be going back.
