I’ve been going to Great Clips for many years and they always do a fantastic job of cutting my hair! As a disclaimer, I do have very straight and fine hair, so most likely cutting my hair is quite easy – I am not sure how they do with thick or curly hair. However, I have always been extremely satisfied. I’ve avoided getting a haircut for a long time due to the pandemic and recently came in with years of damage from not cutting my hair. Ivy did a fantastic job of not only removing the damaged hair, but in styling my hair so that it still looked long and healthy. Several weeks after my initial haircut, my hair still looks healthy and full. If you have easy to cut hair, this place is unbeatable at the price!

I asked to have 4 inches cut off the length of my long hair, pointing to where I wanted it. She cut off 8 inches! The length is maddening enough, but on top of that the layers were cut poorly and my hair looks choppy. She butchered my hair. I don’t recommend this place.

I was in Irvine California from June to August doing an internship with NASA. I had been growing my hair for 2.5 years and decided on my last day of the internship that I wanted to donate my hair for someone with cancer. I’ve done it three times before in my life and knew Great Clips supports that cause. I went to this facility and my hairstylist, Patricia, told me my ponytail was only “7.5 inches” and that my hair needed to be 12 inches to donate it and get a free haircut. I told her I thought it was 12 inches, but that I would take the ponytail with me and see if I could donate it elsewhere. Patricia charged me full price and refused to accept a coupon I had. When I flew back to my hometown in Chicago the next day, I measured my ponytail and was heartbroken to find that it was indeed 12 inches and that she lied to me. I called this facility over 5 times and spoke to two different managers. By the fifth time, the best they offered me was that someone in California could come and pick up $16, fully knowing that I was already back in Chicago and had no way of doing that. By the end of the haircut situation and me paying out of pocket to mail my ponytail to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, I lost a total of $23 for a haircut and great cause that should have only cost me a tip for the hairstylist. If I could rate this facility zero stars, I definitely would.

If you have curly or coily hair, I would not recommend this place. I called prior and asked if they knew how to cut curly hair. They said yes and that was a lie. It was evident that they didn’t know what they were doing. I am honestly grateful that hair grows back. Curly hair, Haircut

Good place if you need a quick hair cut. Some of their staff are good a their job but not all. Its not cheap when compared to other places in neighboring cities. But, you are in Irvine and this might be the cheapest. I would not rate them the highest as I have not had a consistent experience with haircuts here. Its a hit or miss until you have found your person in there.

Everyone I’ve gotten a haircut from here has been super fast and very nice. Most of the time I’m in and out in 15 minutes or so. Granted, my haircut is pretty simple, but these folks are still very speedy and talented with a pair of scissors.

The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because they were rather quick to get me seated in a busy day but that just tells you that the quality of the haircut isn’t that great, as their name claims. I forgot the name of the lady who cut my hair, she was really nice but she messed up my hair bad.
