Great Clips

Critical: Professionalism, QualityMy 15 year old son wears his hair long on top and shorter on the sides. He gets a trim about every 6 weeks from another location, that was booked up today. So we went here. He asked for a trim on the sides to clean it up around the ears and edges. The stylist immediately took out clippers and completely started shaving his sides stating that his previous records showed a #3 shave. She cut from the neck up to the ears at that #3 length. I told her that was way too short and was too blunt of a change going further up and to the long top. She said it looked like a cool cowboy cut and she loved it. It looked like a bowl cut, like the one from the 3 stooges. I told her she had to fade it in to the top, and to not keep shaving. She again turned on the shaver and completely butchered his hair. She even took the long top that hung just below the ears and pulled it straight back and used clippers (not scissors) and cut it. He now has super short hair. He said the top should be at ear length and she said I’ll cut it at the brows. She also talked about menopause during the session. We will definitely not be back. Super disappointing. My son was in shock and being a nice kid kept saying it’s okay Mom, when I was continuously telling her to stop cutting. This was our first and definitely our last time at this location. My 15 year old son wears his hair long on top and shorter on the sides. He gets a trim about every 6 weeks from another location, that was booked up today. So we went here. He asked for a trim on the sides to clean it up around the ears and edges. I was really leery of going to a franchise salon but I read the reviews and hoped for the best. I was really hoping to get Kristi after reading the reviews. Luckily she was the stylist today. I must say she lived up to her reviews. I’m very happy with the way my hair turned out. I’m also really happy I found a hair salon and stylist I can go to with confidence! I haven’t been to get my hair done in forever. I usually cut my own hair. Rarely do I go to a salon but I decided this time I would. I was really leery of going to a franchise salon but I read the reviews and hoped for the best. I was really hoping to get Kristi after reading the reviews. Luckily she was the stylist today. I must say she lived up to her reviews. I’m very happy with the way my hair turned out. I’m also really happy I found a hair salon and stylist I can go to with confidence! The fact that it’s so close to home is a bonus! I’ll definitely be returning in the future. Thanks Kristi!

Critical: ProfessionalismSo I went to Great clips at the White Lake Meijer. I walked in they said they were closed. They close at 6:00 but I’m pretty sure it was about 15 minutes to 6:00 because it doesn’t take me that long to get there from where I work and I was off at 5:30. And I guess I looked surprised and she said something like, sometimes we close early when we have things to do. Then as I was leaving one of the girls said we open at 9:00 tomorrow morning. I said okay. I had to be to work at 11:00 so my plan was to be there at 9:00 to get my haircut so I could get to work on time. I waited there for 5 to 10 minutes and then decided to look to see if anybody was inside and there was a paper note on the door saying they open at 10:30. I have gone to Great clips for years but unfortunately the location I normally go to at Fisk Road is temporarily closed for some reason. I’m seriously going to consider going somewhere else. Honestly I’ve never had such a bad experience with any salon. I’m hoping I’ll be able to to find some place on Monday to get my haircut because now it’s a holiday weekend and there are special hours with some places. I think Great clips seriously needs to reevaluate their hiring practices because this was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had.
