A few days ago I had a very traumatizing trip to great clips in Dover….I’m still trying to figure out how someone could have messed things up so badly. I asked for a trim of 2 inches max, some layering and some peices to frame my face. What I got was big chunky layers that looked awful, she cut all the length off the sides so from the front my hair was at my chin and the only length left was in the back. She cut it at the wrong part so the face peices were all messed up. After 3 years of growing out my hair I ended up having to cut it all shoulder length (7 inches off) just to somewhat fix it. There is no excuse for this.

They are a very friendly and welcoming staff- but they are so BUSY! The best way to manage your visit is to download the Great Clips app, this allows you to “sign-in” from a distance, and then the app will alert you when your turn in line is 15, 20 minutes away. I sign-in at my work, then head to the location when I know my turn is coming. Otherwise, it’s nearly always a 45-60 min wait in the store.

I arrived at 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. Told me they close at 7 the hours on the door say 9am – 8pm. They lied to me told me there was a 20 minute wait with not 1 customer in the store. They only wanted to close early!!! Locked the door as soon as I walked out. Then turned the open sign off. Very unprofessional!! I will not be back. Haircut

I almost feel guilty about this review because my last haircut was excellent. The manager cut my hair exactly the way I asked, didn’t have to ask 20 questions, took the time to blow off as much excess hair as she could and finished in less than 15 minutes. I’m sorry to say that is not my typical experience. I ask for an “8” all over, to taper the sides and cut the bangs short along the hairline. It seems taper is an antiquated term because that usually starts a lot of questions about fours and sixes which I can’t answer since I don’t speak hair and since I don’t speak hair I don’t know how else to communicate what I want. We manage to get through with a mediocre hair cut and then that person changes my preferences in the computer. My next visit then begins with my being asked if I still want a 6, which us something I have never asked for. Over a typical year I will get 2 excellent haircuts, maybe 4 decent ones, about 4 mediocre ones and at least 2 near disasters which is hard for me to understand since my hair is so short. I return mainly due to convenience and I like being able to check in on line and monitor wait time. I have been a regular for years so my personal info in in the computer. Nothing is harder to take than getting a haircut, paying full price and then seeing the sale signs go up two or three days later. I would think a regular customer would at least deserve advance notice of coming sales or promotions
