I have enough hair for 5 people, and sometimes I just don’t want to wash it myself. I stopped by Great Clips in Smithfield, NC and Peggy washed my hair. I have to say it was theeee best hair wash I’ve ever had. She really got in there and scrubbed my scalp. It felt so incredible that I tipped her $10 for a $10. wash and I’ve never done that…ever. Thank you, Peggy! You’re a rock star!!

DO NOT GO HERE. My dad and I went to this location today to get simple trims. I’m normally very reluctant to go to a hair salon because I don’t trust many people with my hair. Since I was only looking to get about an inch taken off of my length, I figured anyone working in this profession could do a task so simple. I was sadly mistaken. The woman who cut my hair did so while it was completely dry (I have curly hair so this was a red flag), and the hair cut lasted about a total of 10 minutes max. After she finished cutting, I showed her some spots that were very noticably uneven, which she ~attempted~ to fix. I then asked for a shampoo (usually my favorite part), but the water was cold, she didn’t massage my scalp at all, and missed all the hair near the base of my neck (it didn’t even get wet). I then asked her if she could straighten out my hair a bit while she blow-dried it so I could make sure everything was even. she told me it would be an extra $50 just for a blow dry. (she explained that it isn’t a full service salon and that the service isn’t included in my cut. not her fault, but still absolutely ridiculous for such a little request.) I eventually convinced her to just blow dry my hair normally and not straighten it with the blow dryer. My hair was still wet when she claimed she was done and I immediately got out of the chair and left the store to sit in the car. My dad paid and left, and when I asked him to check to see if my hair was even, he was in shock. I started to cry, and we went back into the store to get a refund and show them the terrible haircut I just received. they offered to fix my hair about 5 times, which I refused because they clearly can’t be trusted with scissors. this is what I’m left with:

Got my hair trimmed here. It was like 1-2 inches off, took 5 minutes. The lady charged me 20 dollars. I was so mad. A basic trim shouldn’t cost anywhere near 20 dollars. I only gave 2 stars because the lady was nice.

The thing about Great Clips, and low cost Solons in general, is that the experience can be very inconsistent. I get the same easy haircut every time and yet the time I’m in the chair varies immensely. My suggestion is to find a stylist you like and ask for them. I can’t find as good a price at other salons, so I’m willing to take my chances.

I dont get upset. As a rule of thumb i also dont like posting my face anywhere but this merits both accounts to express my displeasure. 1.) the hairstylist after i advised of one length slightly longer than i speculated i wanted to avoid cutting too much in the first pass. Upon it being slightly longer than i had estimated the stylist and i forget her name older woman with a mild accent and i asked for another pass gave the information that if she had to cut it a third time she would have to charge me for 3 haircuts. And i can understand if she did any beautification work i.e. layering or anything. Which leads to point 2.) look at the picture the only service i was provided was a pass on my hair twice. This pic is the BEST of the ones i took. There is no structure and i am quite dissatisfied but due to the comment earlier i was scared to request any more done. 3.) if i needed to order styling to have general work done then i would have liked to be advised. As is i am quite livid enough to write a review. I prefer to be amicable but i simply am quite upset with this location sorry i can not recommend the place.
