Had a pleasant young lady cut my hair and she did a really great job. My son had his hair cut and was very pleased. The wait was only about 15 mins and we were walk-ins.

I went in for a trim and came out with a cut that had no definite style uneven layers and a completely different shape than what I went in with. I was also incorrectly informed that my hair is heat damaged and yes I say incorrectly because there is a difference between heat damage and dry hair. As I am a natural curly haired individual with low porosity hair my hair tends to be on the dryer side. I also only use heat on my hair about 2 times per year which I explained to the stylist who suggested that I come back in 6-8 weeks for another trim to promote hair growth. Which is when I informed her I would not be coming back for a trim in 6-8 weeks because it is counter productive for me to do so since to get my hair trimmed it needs to be in it’s straight or blown out/ pressed form which takes heat and my hair is already heat damaged according to her. It was in this moment that I realized how little the stylist really knew about ethnic hair care. The only reason I gave the review a 2 star and not a 1 is because this was my second visit and the first visit was way better but I did have a different stylist.

Critical: QualityI’ve used this location since moving to Knightdale in 2014. The staff was great. It didn’t matter who cut my hair. I always left happy.It’s not unusual to see staff turn over at a chain like this. But, the consistency in the quality of service has declined over the last couple years.The young woman who cut my hair today was very polite and professional. However, she went way too short very high up on my sides. I understand she is new to the profession, but she never even asked how high up to go with the trimmer. I’ve had ladies who’ve cut my hair several times ask for clarification on what I wanted. This young woman did not do that until it was too late.Now, I have to wait 6-8 weeks to have enough hair to get it cut properly somewhere else.I guess it’s like Russian Roulette. You can only get lucky so many times. After 7 years, I’m done taking my chances here.** Picture notes** There are three pictures are from today’s haircut. I recently came in for a haircut, to get my dead ends cut off. I told the lady that I didn’t want my hair any shorter than just below my shoulders. Prior to the butchering, my hair was 3-4 inches below my shoulder blades. This woman CHOPPED my hair to above my shoulders, below my ears. I cannot even pull my hair back into a ponytail anymore because it is so short. I said below the shoulders!!!! I told her this again after the chop and all she could tell me was, “At least it is healthy now! It’s cute and sassy!” I cried for 3 days because it is not me, not what I asked for and she butchered my hair. Paying for a professional salon from now on because the people who work here do not care!!
