I asked for a simple and standard men’s haircut, short on the sides and a little longer on top. My stylist cut the top of my hair first and cut it WAY shorter than I wanted, then made the sides barely any shorter than that. However, this was only a partial contribution to my 1 star review – my hair will grow back, after all. While you’re getting your simple haircut botched, you also get to listen to your stylists’ controversial conspiracy theories on modern topics. What am I supposed to do when I’m getting my haircut by someone who starts spouting controversial opinions that I passionately disagree with? Leave in the middle of my cut? Start an argument? Maybe keep the small talk to more friendly topics that don’t make your customer consider how worth it is to get into a debate. In hindsight, maybe feel free to get into a debate because it’s not like they’ll ruin your haircut any more than they already have.

The business closes at 4pm on Sundays and so I put my name in at 2:20p. It said 50 minute wait so I arrived shortly after 3pm. The lady said they were short staffed and couldn’t take us even though our name was on the list right on their computer screen. It’s unfortunate that they didn’t handle it better like for 1) call me and tell me the situation before I drove there or 2) offer some sort of discount for the next time we come in to make up for it or 3) the best option: stay a few minutes later to honor someone’s reservation. Probably won’t be coming back here at this point but come on!! I understand everyone is short staffed and things are crazy right now but you can still try to give good customer service.

If I could give it a zero star review I would. Save your money and go elsewhere. My father and son went there my father has his hair cut the same way for four decades and they gave him what looks like a military cut. My son with curly hair they took none off the back or top but took from the side and the middle of the back of his head and left him with a mullets fro I can’t even describe properly in words. I don’t know how any stylist would think it’s okay to let a teenager walk out like that. After hours of disappointment and a couple days of laughter will take him to a proper barber before the start of school so he doesn’t get beat up.

Disappointed, but not mad. I’ve been going to Great Clips for many years in South Carolina and really enjoying the service there. After moving to Maine, the closest one to me was an hour away in Auburn, so when I saw one was opened in Windham, it was a half hour away so I decided to make an online reservation around 2:30 on a Sunday, knowing I wouldn’t be there until shortly after 3. I arrived at 3:10 to find out they closed at 3:00, an hour earlier than was posted on Google. With gas prices so high, I wasted time and money, and still need a haircut. I will rate the review based on the average so far because I have to, and hope to return sometime this week to see how it goes. Unfortunately since they’re closed until Wednesday, I will have to wait until then. I have to think someone would have seen my online reservation, but still decided to close before I arrived?

The stylist they have now do not know what they are doing. They seem to be inexperienced. My husband and son went in for two simple haircuts….left with haircuts that looked more like my dogs chewed it. Now they are going to need another haircut to fix the mess Great Clips did. Not going back there again.
