Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityGisell took care of me and spent a good amount of time listening to what I wanted. I added on a pop of color( frame color) after discussing the look I was going for and that color turned out exactly as expected. She applied it carefully meaning I did not leave with the pop of purple pink color on my skin, which I absolutely despise when someone is sloppy and rushed.I also asked her to break up the brightness of my highlights by adding lowlights. I had been getting lighter and lighter and though it was nice…I wanted something a bit different for fall in terms of lightness. She did this and gave me what I asked for, but the finished color came out a bit darker than I wanted. Having said this, by no means is it a dealbreaker because I still have a dark blonde tone that is really nice(see pictures). If I had to do it over I’d probably ask for more highlights next time with fewer lowlights, but it’s never easy to know exactly what 15 foils means of lowlights and 10 of highlights for example. I know she mentioned I’d only get a face framing with a partial highlight and I definitely didn’t want that! So this is very acceptable and looks gorgeous as is and my pop of color will lighten with washing so I’ll get a much brighter look around my face framing with washing. I don’t expect my other tones to change much at all with the exception of the gloss dulling in a few weeks, but that’s typical. For reference I’ll add my previous hair color in a picture.. I did a 3/4 highlight at Gordon . Which means I have nothing done in the under layers. I like this because it gives different dimension and tones when I do a braid whether it be a French braid or a single waterfall braid. I also like the darker color coming out of the bottom in the previous highlights only (color job done before somewhere else)Giselle has a nice personality, not pushy and not to aggressive. She’s different than my regular colorist in this way, but it’s a very good thing. I felt taken care of and relaxed around her and not rushed or like I was a bother. She’s very low key and it fits my needs perfectly!!!Though I love my colorist Liz at the salon I’ve been going to in Lincolnshire, the attitude at the other spa is friendly but fake. I’ve been a client there for 3 years after moving to the area. Here at Gordon in Wilmette, I felt like it was more relaxed and less competitive among the front desk and stylists and colorists. I came in on a Wednesday at 1 which is right when they open (due to pandemic change of hours)Gordon is a smaller salon in Wilmette and it feels right for me. I live 30 minutes North, but I’ll definitely be back for more services with Giselle. I’ll stick with Liz also for color in the spring to mix it up one time and to see if the other salon changes, but I doubt it will. It’s their vibe.I am curious to see what develops over time in terms of Giselle’s aesthetic and style. I’ll update in 6 months again.Services: Hair coloring, Gloss or Glaze, Hair highlightingGisell took care of me and spent a good amount of time listening to what I wanted.
