Michael (Metáfora Barber) is one of the best barbers in the Eastern Panhandle. His fades are on point, line ups on point and the straight edge razor cleanup up at the end is the icing on the cake. Good Looks does have some highly sought after barbers so I suggest calling in ahead of time for an appointment or setting up an appointment through the application Booksy which is what I use and it’ll show you the open time slots. I believe they do walk-ins also however the appointments are prioritized and you could possibly be sitting there for a long time until the appointments are done.

My husband and I were looking for a new place to take my son to get his hair cut. The door said “walk-ins welcome”. We walked in and the man asked if we had an appointment. We told him we were walk-ins and he didn’t look up to see how many people were in front of us he just said he couldn’t take us.He said ” We normally don’t take walk ins”, clearly contradicting the policy printed on the door. He said the guy in front of him might get to my son. Just a side note, the was NO guy in front of him. We waited 10 minutes for another barber to “appear”.There were exactly 2 barbers and 1 person waiting. We felt so uncomfortable, this barbershop could not have made us feel less welcome. We took my son and left without a haircut… Luckily down the road we found a lovely bunch of men at the barbers next to the Berkeley plaza.

Great haircuts, but atleast with the barber I have, his timing is not good. If you schedule an appointment you expect it to be on time, maybe a few minutes late, but not 20 or 30 minutes+ late. The appointments are slowly degrading back to the old way of haircuts of walking in and waiting. Not really fair to make an appointment and it exceedingly late. It’s hard for me to walk away because he does such a superb haircut, just wish he was a bit more punctual.

I’ve gotten 3 different numbers of individual barbers because they dont answer the main line. All of those barbers don’t reply for large portions of time and Ill go weeks trying to make a single appointment. I know good barbers are scarce in this town but you shouldn’t give your money to this place . I’ve never had service this bad at any barber shop. The cuts themselves are fine but the business is so unprofessional it’s hard to get one. They require call aheads? Fine. I’ve gotten 3 different numbers of individual barbers because they dont answer the main line. All of those barbers don’t reply for large portions of time and Ill go weeks trying to make a single appointment. I came in as a walk in and figured there would be a long wait, which was fine. I didn’t mind waiting. I didn’t even mind the 2 hour wait. But what I did mind was that in those 2 hours not a single person acknowledged my existence. I get that women in barbershops aren’t common, but not a single word? At one point they were asking walk ins how long they had been waiting, and they completely skipped me over. I spoke up, and nothing. The last straw was when they took a walk in who came in over an hour after I had, without even looking at me. That’s when I left. I gave two stars because the haircuts I saw (and I saw a lot in 2 hours) all looked great. If you’re a guy, and you don’t mind a wait, you can go and come out with a fresh looking haircut. But if you’re a woman, I wouldn’t bother. I don’t think they want your business

My boys have been going to the same two barbers for years. I also like how friendly and welcoming they are with not only adults but children and toddlers as well. My son’s first hair cut he cried and fell asleep all at the same time, yet Mikey was able to work through the mess with a smile on his face! Not to mention his hair cut came out nice!! My boys now fight over who gets to go first and they are actually excited to see him which is a plus.

I started going to Good Looks a few years ago actually and I couldn’t go to another barber since. I went through multiple barbers before that, they didn’t know much/ could tell they were just kind of winging it in a sense or it was just like you’re money and bounce/no client-employee relationship.
