Went to our timeshare at Atlantic Beach a couple weeks ago. As everyone knows, this is a large vacation location and many folks will bring their canine companions with them as we did. Upon arrival, I desperately needed a haircut. We found Golden barbershop and our dog accompanied us (never met a stranger and loves everyone!) and, very well-trained. I opened the door and said “Good morning…are you dog friendly?). The barber who answered me (I assume he was the owner) said in true redneck fashion, “Ain’t no dawgs allowed in here..” …personality of a soap dish. Well, you lost my money. We went down the street to Edwin Barbershop and they were more than accommodating and said that they love dogs coming in…and, they can cut some hair!

I’ve been searching the area a good while now for a place I can go to consistently for a trim. I walked in and was sat within a short moment. Very respectful and relaxing atmosphere. The older gentlemen are conditioned to their craft and it will show in my continued visits. Prices are extremely reasonable. Plenty of room for a good tip.

Hands down the best barbershop I’ve been to in Eastern NC. I’m comparing to Morehead City, Havelock, & Greenville specifically. The older gentleman on right, closest to the register cut my hair. He took about 30 minutes, but that’s because he’s a perfectionist! I can’t give higher stars or I would. I’ve been in Morehead City since 2014 & have struggled to get a decent cut. I will absolutely be a repeat customer. It’s a quaint shop, 4 older gentleman doing haircuts, and tucked away a few doors down from the NC License Plate Agency. Give them a try, you’ll be satisfied. Prices are comparable to the entire area, so they’re fair priced!

Was referred here and excited to pick a small local barber shop. Walked in with my wife and three kids and was greeted with silence. Never said a word. Told one of the folks “Good Morning sir.” I was responded with silence and looking away. I waited my turn and one of the stylists asked who was next. There were two in front of me and one went up. Another stylist freed up and asked who was next. The second person didn’t move and I was waiting for them too. The person behind me jumped up and sat in the chair and didn’t bother asking if I was going. Stylist didn’t argue. I got up to look out the window to see where the ATM was and was harshly told “I asked who was next” not caring the other person already seated. I said that was fine and I guess it was my mistake for trying to allow silent clients and stylists to go in a proper order. The stylist again rudely told me the same thing and started working on the persons hair. I proceeded to walk out and I will not be going back. Great Clips gave me a great cut and great customer service. So much for trying a local “family friendly” barber shop.

Great barbershop…. Only barbershop in town that actually feels like the one I went to back home my entire life before moving to “the beach”. It has that old school feel and the way a barbershop is suppose to feel…. Not so commercialized like new shops…
