I have now been with Alf through three local salons. I’d honestly follow him to the ends of the earth because no one has ever made my hair look this cute or manageable – I’ve never been able to leave a salon, wash my hair, and make it look as good as the day it was cut before. Now I can – for weeks it still looks great. Alf is phenomenal as a stylist and as a person. But this is also the best salon I’ve ever experienced with him or with other stylists – it’s clean and bright without feeling fussy. The space is so comfortable and the energy from everyone who works there is so positive and kind. I also love not having a receptionist and booking everything online – having one less person to make small talk with is always a bonus in my book.

Today I had such a wonderful experience at Goldenrod. I received a custom curly cut by Alf, who is absolutely phenomenal! I walked in looking a hot mess and walked out looking like a million bucks. I didn’t know what or where to start, but I knew I needed professional help and thats exactly what I got. My curls never looked so amazing, he shaped my hair perfectly and gave me movie star volume. Everything was personalized right down to the wash. Invigorating clean products that made me feel like I was having a spa experience as well as a haircut. I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. I’m someone who gets very nervous when I go to a salon, but I felt right at home and I felt special. This was truly an amazing experience and was such a great start to my Birthday. If you can’t figure out what’s going on with your hair, if it seems you can never find the right products, if you want a haircut without having an anxiety attack, if you want to go in somewhere KNOWING you will walk out looking amazing….go see Alf, I honestly can’t say enough nice things about Alf@Goldenrod. …highly recommend!!

Got a cut and style by Maelee and it was such a wonderful experience. She’s super knowledgeable, really listens, and explains the process of what she’s doing. I told her my main issue with transitioning to natural hair was frizz and styling and she left me feeling so beautiful! My curls were soft to the touch, so much bounce, and best of all she showed me what I can do to reduce frizz on my own. She even showed me how to finger coil, and had me practice so I could do it on my own at home. I ended up leaving with more curls than I thought my hair was capable of. I’ve been looking for a curly hair expert in Gainesville, and she’s it! Can’t wait to continue going to her. The salon was also beautiful and clean.
