Positive: Cleanliness, ProfessionalismSavannah is absolutely amazing!! It has taken me a long time to find the perfect hairstylist for me, since moving to Wilmington, best believe me I found it. I have struggled to find my perfect hair, but now I have it! She is so friendly, makes you feel so comfortable, and understanding!! Half of the time I walk in and I do not know what I want (but I walk out looking perfect and so confident). Golden salon also has the sweetest most welcoming people answering phones as well as helping you when you walk in. I now have people comment on my hair every where I go!!! Savannah is absolutely amazing!! It has taken me a long time to find the perfect hairstylist for me, since moving to Wilmington, best believe me I found it. I have struggled to find my perfect hair, but now I have it! She is so friendly, makes you feel so comfortable, and understanding!! My mom referred me to this salon and specifically Savannah (@savvywiththeshears on insta) because she does not only amazing hair transformations, but has an amazing way with people. I have really thick hair, and it is hard to find someone willing to go in and take the time to cut it; considering how much I have. Savannah is willing and ready for new ideas or keeping the same things with her clients. She works very close to detail, and makes you feel welcomed and excited about your catered looks. I look forward to making appointments with her when I get back from school, and I always leave so happy and ready to show it off!

Critical: QualityI think my first mistake was assuming this salon knew how to style and handle ethnic hair. I scheduled an appointment to get my hair straightened for my high school graduation and I really really advised them that I have 3b thick and course curly hair, so to probably overestimate the time it would take. Come the day of my appointment, and I was a little nervous when I walked into a salon full of just blonde-haired Caucasian women but I don’t judge a book by it’s cover so I reassured myself with the positive google reviews. The hair stylist didn’t seem like she knew what was doing it and was just winging it. She began to rush because her next client was coming in (even though I had told the front desk my hair type and how long it could take) and eventually she had to move onto her next client, leaving her assistant to finish the job. I’m glad her assistant was outgoing and really nice though, and we chatted about life while she straightened my hair. I left severely disappointed when my hair wasn’t even straightened well and was puffy and frizzy. I had graduation the next day and had to go home and re-straighten my hair; simply a waste of time and money. Hairstylists should have expertise with all hair types and textures, not just one. It’s not a one size fits all kind of job which is why I’m confused on how poorly of a job was done. I think my first mistake was assuming this salon knew how to style and handle ethnic hair. I scheduled an appointment to get my hair straightened for my high school graduation and I really really advised them that I have 3b thick and course curly hair, so to probably overestimate the time it would take.
