Surgeon
Acne Surgery

Basal Cell Carcinoma

Squamous cell carcinoma
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is often easily treated when diagnosed early, but when left untreated it can be deadly. Squamous cell carcinoma kills more than twice as many people as melanoma does every year in the United States.
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are enlarged twisted veins at the skin surface primarily in the legs. They indicate that the valves of the veins are not functioning appropriately causing chronic venous insufficiency. Insurance covers treatments for treatments when symptoms are present.

Mohs Micrographic Surgery for Skin Cancer
Mohs micrographic surgery is an advanced method of treatment offering the highest cure rate for skin cancer. Often skin cancers have various roots not visible to the eye. Using a microscope, a Mohs surgeon is able to trace and fully remove the tumor.
Mole removal
We all have moles that need to be checked. Moles that are changing, darkening, or appear different than others need to be examined at least annually. We can evaluate them with a special light and if needed can take a small biopsy to send a lab for further testing.
Skin Allergy Patch Testing
Patch testing can help look for a wide range of allergies. With patch testing a series of stickers are applied to your back and they are left on overnight to test for reactions. We usually test for around 80 allergens including chemicals found in make-up, dyes, and detergents.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Tidwell and his friendly and helpful office staff. I booked an appointment to evaluate and possibly remove a lip mass, and not knowing how this could be done, I was initially very nervous. From the time I entered their medical facility, they put me at ease, letting me know that my situation was easily resolvable. I found Dr. Tidwell to be confident, very knowledgeable, very professional, and he immediately developed a plan of action. Dr. Tidwell was reassuring and had a pleasant bedside manner. Though I was fully awake for the procedure, I didn’t feel a thing as he removed the mass, and the results looked amazing (clean, efficient, without resulting scars). While I was there, I had a skin screening done and a mole removed as well, with equally great results. His medical office is clean, his staff respectful and compassionate — I highly recommend Golden Coast Dermatology!

Any diagnosis of cancer is scary. Several of my family have a positive history for skin cancer. Dr Tidwell’s office was professional but personal when they told me I too had a skin cancer. Arrangements were made quickly and efficiently for the surgical removal. Dr Tidwell has a professional manner and takes great pride in his work. But his peaceful and calming demeanor sets him in a class of his own. I am truly grateful he was the physician that removed my nasal cell carcinoma. I cannot express adequately in words what a great job Dr. Tidwell did with my MOH’s surgery. I had a basal cell carcinoma on my forehead which required a large amount of skin to be removed. I was very nervous about the outcome, scarring, etc. Dr Tidwell was so kind and compassionate and truly went the extra mile to make sure I was informed about the procedure and comfortable with it. He even called the night of the surgery to check and see how I was feeling. It has been 6 months since my procedure and there is barely a scar! He did a fabulous job and I would highly recommend him to others!!!! We are fortunate to have him in our area!
