I came in to Anissa a self-professed “hot mess” and she turned me into a super star. She corrected my color, gave me a incredibly flattering cut, and styled my locks to within an inch of my life! Anissa took 20 years off my look in an hour and a half and made me laugh the entire time she worked her magic. I cannot recommend Anissa enough. Thank you for making me 30-something again!

My overall experience at Godiva Salon left A LOT to be desired. I’ve been a patron of a multicultural/predominantly white salon in the past and received great service. So when I was referred to a black stylist at the salon, I decided to give Godiva Salon a try. Partial blame to me for not doing a bit more research and vetting the stylist prior to this last minute appointment. My 16-year old daughter has never been more humiliated. The stylist and I spoke over the phone and I told her about my daughter’s hair length and type. I assumed that though she was in salon that serviced predominantly white clients (I was told it was multicultural) she could relate to African-American, natural hair. My daughter’s hair has a natural, textured curl pattern and is long in length (a bit past her shoulders). I would have almost expected this from a white stylist who may not be used to African-American hair textures, but never from a black stylist. The way she acted while rendering the services was appalling. She made micro-aggressive statements about my daughter’s hair being “a lot” to handle and told my daughter that she “is going to a stop doing natural hair because it takes too much time.” Well don’t accept appointments from black clients! Or screen and only accept from those who have Caucasian-type hair! The way she was loudly speaking about my daughter’s hair caused other clients to stare as if my daughter was a freak-of-nature or something. The stylist even had the nerve to suggest we watch a documentary on black hair and self acceptance after passive aggressively degrading my daughter in front of others. I’m not sure if she meant well or not, but it was not well received. And did I mention my daughter was at the salon for almost 5 hours while she churned out her “other persuasion-type” clients. My daughter’s hair after being flat ironed is normally very silky and with a lot of body. However, she left there with hair being the total opposite and the next day looked as if she hadn’t visited a professional stylist. Never will I step foot in this salon again nor will I refer anyone white, black or other to Godiva Salon.

Nice facility. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I recieved a really great haircut from Sally Fischer! She was very patient and professional. Totally recommend a visit and giving Sally an opportunity to cut your hair.

The stylist that took the time to do my hair as a walk in the first time I went in did the best job I had seen out of anyone. She didn’t need me to answer questions over and over to do exactly what I wanted. I went in yesterday because it had been several months and I needed to get my style refreshed. But refreshed was not what I felt when I left and all through the night. The second stylist I saw basically just ruined what my hair could have been! The entire appointment time she was distracted and talking with everyone else. They benefited from my time more than I did, because I only answered random questions unrelated. She didn’t seem at all interested in doing what I had asked for, put too much product in my hair before cutting and did the entire haircut dry and I have fine hair. It wasn’t until later I realized that she never turned the share to show me the back. Now I feel like I got a dog’s haircut with split ends. I’m coming back to let someone else fix it, but I don’t know what’s going to come of it. There needs to be more communication and attention for a place that costs more than average.

I have new favorite salon to go to. This place feels like home. They have a little kitchenette to have some snacks, coffee and they have lemonade as well. My hair always look amazing after a color and fresh cut. Their prices are great as well.

Tanya and I had a consultation about hair for my wedding. She assured me everything would go smoothly. It’s the day of the “run through” appointment and she’s 45 plus minutes late. Too late to find a new person to do my wedding hair. Now being told she can’t fit me in today. Very stressed out bride and hoping to find someone to fix this. I will never work with her again. She didn’t even come out and speak to me but had the receptionist do it.

Today I had my hair highlighted and cut by Rebecca for the third time and have always received quality services at affordable prices. I also get my eyebrows waxed here, and they do great work on my husband’s hair, too. I searched long and hard for the right salon for us and this is definitely it!
