This my third time getting my hair braided here. The first two time my experience had been great. I called made an appointment and agreed on a price. I loved my hair style, it was fast and very neat. My hair was really short the first two time so I really appreciate the fact that they were able to grip it. The third time, I did the same but I asked for a much simpler hairstyle (cornrows) which I expected to cost much less, especially since my hair was longer and I all I wanted was simply straight backs with medium size individuals box braiding the back. This time I was charged over $200+, I’m actually embarrassed to give the whole amount. It was almost the same price as the first two time when I got kinky twist. Long story short I will be finding a new braid shop… it is a dime a dozen in the DMV.

This was my first experience at Gloria’s and I loved it. It’s a small shop but it’s full of great energy. There were only 2 women working but they work extremely fast. They have braid sizes so they know what you want before even starting your hair. When they finish with a client they clean up after and make sure you’re comfortable before they start. They provide the hair for you as well. I got my hair done on Friday the 1st and it’s still super tight and fresh. I definitely would recommend them to anyone who wants to get their hair done.

Both ladies were nice and welcoming and did such an amazing job on my hair! $20 was taken off my total price because I had my own hair. I will be going back to these ladies for my next hairstyle

I rated my experience based on the service I received today. I called @9am this morning to see if there would be any openings 12:30 is what I was told. Arrived 5 min early and was seen by 12:45. I received small mid back length box braids and was finished by4:30. Gloria braided my hair . Customer service was excellent compared to other braiding salons I’ve visited she went over and above to make me comfortable since I’m expecting. I’m glad i chose to come here good work ladies.

Before I came I called to see if they where able to do my hair in Box Braids and if I need to supply my own hair. So long story short after waiting to be service which wasn’t that big of a deal for me, the big deal was she told me they don’t do triangle part and the only way they do it is basically like a young lady who just left the chair. Her was nice but it was individuals not box braids. Then ask would you be able to my part she said no she couldn’t do that…. so I wasted my time for nothing now I’m off to another shop

If you’re natural and you care about the care of your hair, I wouldn’t go here. This is why, I am a tightly coiled sister. My curls are tight and my hair is THICK!!! (from roots to ends). So the first thing this woman starts to do is comb through my hair using a small tooth comb – FROM THE ROOTS in an attempt to blow dry my hair. So all you hear is snap..snap…snap…coils just flying. I was so pissed off, I was just about to tell her to stop and I was going to take over. There’s a certain technique to blow drying natural hair – you can’t just start combing, with a small tooth comb – especially not from the roots! Ok – the manager finally tells her to just stop, I think she noticed how pissed I was according to my facial expression. So when the other lady starts to do my hair, she starts combing with a rat tail comb! ( like seriously, who taught these women how to do hair) I tell her what I want – 2 french braids and she has no idea what I’m talking about or how to do it. Even though, the salon owner said Yes and quoted me a price before she left. My hair looks descent, better than it did when I walked in.This place has 5 stars, but I’m not sure how…… If I knew the experience of the women working the salon, I would’ve went somewhere else.
