Went in with my girl friend to get our nails done yesterday and wasn’t totally happy with the quality of service and the result of what our nails looked like. The gentleman who took care of me was quite rude, didn’t seem to listen to what I wanted. I like my nails on the long side and he charged me $5 extra, which I understand completely, but my nails are not long. They’re actually the same length as my friends and she didn’t get charged extra. We both felt rushed through our nail process even though I sat for two hours just to not be satisfied in the length of my nails and the quality of the gel car eye I got. I also left and still had nail glue and polish residue all over my fingers. The pictures posted are of my nails as well as my friends.

Love this place!! One of the owners is always there to make sure that your experience is top-notch. Very clean and they adhere to excellent sanitary practices at all times. They formerly were located in the Publix plaza on Venice Island, but are now located at Pinebrook and Venice Ave. New location is much nicer–more of a spa-like setting. All employees are friendly and very attentive. I have been going to this nail salon for several years now and I am always pleased with the results and service. I would highly recommend!!

Positive: Cleanliness, Punctuality, ValueI got a full set acrylic nails with gel, and the design I want was something the particular artist who did my nails had not done before/often, which was apparent to me in the time he took to observe the picture I showed him and the careful, considerate time he took with the entire process. It was honestly really endearing to see how much care and thought he put into each and every mail. He did an amazing job shaping and measuring and sizing my nails alone. It was really a pleasure to watch him work. He truly was an artist. When it came to the design, there was one particular aspect I was unhappy with but did not vocalize because of a slightly irrational fear of seeming like I am complaining. Again, I am almost positive this was the first time he’d done this design or was new at it and he was very, very considerate throughout the entire process. I didn’t know how to get from regular nails to the nails in the picture, and part of my job as a customer is to know exactly what I wanted— and to vocalize it. So it was my fault for staying silent, crossing my fingers and hoping he was a mind reader. Which I guess In this business (sadly) you kind of have to be. So, like magic, he sensed I wasn’t completely happy and went to fix it— which honestly made me feel bad not because he made me feel bad but because he had done such an amazing job, and I didn’t want to give him a panic attack or something and think I was about to go leave and angry 1-star review because I expected the impossible like a lot of people do. Also, I should ad this guy was seriously talented and a hell of a businessman. He was answering phone calls with a smile on his face, helping other customers when everyone else was busy (with a smile on his face) just multitasking like a pro and seriously— I was impressed. He was literally sweating from running around, while delicately tending to my nails with loving care. No, they aren’t understaffed- they’re just busy, and have a lot of walk-ins. And god forbid a walk-in doesn’t get greeted with a smile and helped within minutes. Anyway, within minutes, my issue was addressed, corrected, perfected, and improved. There’s a saying about how you can pick 2/3: fast, cheap, and quality. All I personally cared about was quality, because in most beauty business quality is hard to come by when they’re used to people who want to have it done quickly, professionally, AND be able to use that $5 off coupon you found on Google. So- they delivered on all 3 areas, all things considered. Truly remarkable in my opinion. They work really, really hard- and you can see it. At the end of the day, this work I received is comparable to the work I got from an upscale boutique nail artist for $60+tip, so I am beyond happy. Aside from that, there’s the fact that the woman who helped perfect the nails, who I assumed was the owner or manager, was wonderful. I’m really introverted and clam up from small talk, but she really cared about her work, my happiness, and being genuine. I also would like to say one of the reasons I chose this salon to begin with is because you can tell they do excellent (and consistent) line work— this is really hard to find at a lot of places. I wanted coffin nails with a French V tip and the cheapest and easiest way to get this is gel for the shape rather than dip powder (which I’ve also had done before). This requires some really steady hands and consistency— and man is that hard to do, I’ve tried. Sometimes I’ve seen tape used to get that look, but that’s another 10/15 minutes right there. I think they (rightfully) assume most people who come in expect cheap, fast, and decent quality— which again, they deliver on, and go beyond. Anyone who expects top of the line quality and speed and low price— you need to try doing nails the way they do, or watch YouTube videos. I promise you, it is not easy work. Anyway, end rant. Keep up the amazing work guys, and thank you for everything you do. You work so hard, and I saw it. My mom and I had a VERY nice nail salon experience. Super friendly, attentive staff, thorough service, and decent pricing! They take appointments and as a walk in, we were served immediately. Great selection of gel and regular nail colors, and they really took the time to make sure my gel fill was done correctly. I will definitely be coming back here next time I visit Venice!! Very clean, well working and comfortable pedicure massage chairs, and just a well run place overall.

A beautiful and relaxing place. Sam and all the staff are always friendly and have a warm welcome. Sam does a beautiful job on nails with a variety of nail design choices. I usually request a nautical design. She is a super artist. The salon is clean and we’ll kept in each of the individual areas. Thank you glitter and gloss team!!!

I believe this salon has changed owners. The service is not what it was last year winter 2019. They do not do first two steps of gel nails. Dehydrator and primer so the gel lifts in a week and a half and nails need to be redone. The edges near the cuticles lifts and gel lifts. I spoke with owner and he said had no idea what I was talking about. There used to be a woman who owned the shop. All the folks there are new except for one person. When I brought this up she just looked at me blankly. I watched a gel nail video and it clearly shows two steps are not done at this shop now.

Wonderful Experience. I have been going to this salon for a number of years, and each time it has been such a wonderful experience. The staff are polite, professional and fun too :). They do such an amazing job. I can’t understand some negative posts regarding this salon. I was actually present when the alleged “bottle of nail polish was replaced”, I can honestly say this was not the case. I fail to understand why a person would deliberately post such totally untrue and unsubstantiated negative about this salon.

Critical: QualityI have been a customer for a few years. Always liked it until the last time when my manicure started chipping the next day. They have been closed because of the pandemic, but recently opened. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi, and when I got there they wouldn’t let me stay because I was not wearing a mask. They tried to tell me it is required in Florida, which is not true. They are next to Publix where I shop all the time, and there are many people there without masks. Why didn’t they tell me I needed one when I made the appointment so I would be sure to bring one? I won’t be back.I have been a customer for a few years. I have lived in Venice for two years and I’ve gone to Glitter and Gloss and have had disappointing service several times, but kept returning out of convenience. I came for the last time this past weekend when I came in for a pedicure, and the moment I sat down the male nail technician laughed at my pale legs and said, “You need to get a tan!”. I was embarrassed and upset by his words. It was a completely inappropriate thing to say to a customer – especially a long term one who always tips, even for sub-par massages and nail polish on my skin during my pedicures. I will not be coming back. I can get a mediocre pedicure anywhere in town and not be insulted by the staff. Would NOT recommend to anyone.
