Gisell’s Hair Braiding

Critical: ProfessionalismI walked into the salon (door advertises that walk-ins are welcome) and asked if it was possible to have my daughter’s hair braided into a ponytail. My daughter’s hair is shorter, so the owner mentioned that hair would need to be added, but that it could be done today. I was advised that the stylist who would be braiding her hair was finishing up with her current client and that her next booked appointment wouldnt arrive until 4pm, so there was time in between to take care of us. After waiting for over an hour for the stylist to finish, she proceeds to tell me that she has never performed feed in cornrows and that she wouldnt be able to provide the service as discussed! There was no apology for wasting almost 2 hours of my day, NOTHING! Then as abruptly as she told me that she wouldnt be able to help us, she turned around and walked in the back room, never to be seen again! I am disgusted at the level of unprofessionalism displayed today and WILL NEVER RETURN to this establishment. I will tell everybody I know about my experience and will encourage others to look elsewhere for braiders. Oh, and for the record…this is the second time I have been turned away at this salon! I gave them a pass the first time because it was a holiday weekend. Critical: Professionalism, QualityI’m not from this area but I work in conyers and needed my hair done and noticed this shop by the gym. The owner Giselle was nice at first in which I had 2 braiders that braided my hair within 5 hours. The next day, I notice my braids are unraveling so I call, and was told to come by. I get there and the owner says she only seen a few coming down, but it was more than a few and only a few had knots especially with it not even being 24 hours. She proceeds to tell me that she can do it once she finishes the head she was working on which she didn’t have but a few twists left and that she couldn’t stop, yet stated she didn’t know when she would finish. She called one of the braiders and said she was busy doing another head and she let her know. She was rude and unprofessional especially when if you don’t go within 7 days, most places won’t fix your hair which is why I let her know the moment I noticed it. I can say I’ve NEVER had box braids without knots to prevent hair coming down nor have I had this issue before. This definitely left a horrible impression and I will NEVER go back to this shop. They even have roaches there. I’m disappointed especially when I tipped them to receive poor service. All the shops went up on their prices assuming everyone got a stimulus and some of us didn’t and work hard for our money and expect the service we pay for. I don’t think these shops realize that it’s the people that keep their businesses going during these trying times yet they get over on people and are rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place and their twists are horrible. They look like something a child would do yet charge all this money.
