I’ve been there twice, first time I went it was a terrible haircut. They did nothing what I asked, and I do a very simple cut. Tried again about two months later to see if maybe it was a fluke, and I had another awful haircut. I was in and out in 5 minutes for a relatively high price. Did not pay any attention to detail, and did not even ask if I even liked it. Going to my normal place soon to fix what they did. Feel like I wasted my money.

Damaged my hair, looked terrible, overcharged me, not friendly only In the beginning to get you in. They cannot do trendy styles and only want to do easy cuts on older people with short hair. Manager was not gentle on my hair and made many rude comments. Hair coloring

I live in downtown Madison, and it is absolutely worth the drive to Deforest to go to Genesis! The salon is bright, friendly, clean and cute. Everyone behind the front desk is super nice and the rest of the staff seem really friendly too. Kelsey has been cutting my hair for about a year now, including chopping a ton of it off! I was worried about going through that awkward phase as I grew it out again, but she has worked her magic with shaping and styling — my hair has looked great at every length and I couldn’t be happier.
