GEM is my favorite place with some of my favorite people. Their whole crew is absolutely amazing, friendly and welcoming. Mel does my lashes and shapes my brows – when she started doing my brows I had random strangers compliment me and ask where they were done. I started coming to Mel as a client and I have a lifelong friend now. She laugh is contagious. I’ve sat In Courtney’s chair and spilled my guts more times then I’m comfortable saying here Court and Britt have done my oldest hair so many times with all of her sass and they empower and lift her up, it’s the best feeling as a mom seeing your child beaming with confidence and other women helping lift it with her. Britt recently trimmed my youngest daughters hair and she STILL talks about it. I’d trust any of their staff with my hair or my children’s hair. There aren’t enough good things to say about GEM…

Taylor has been doing my hair for a little over 8 years. She is the absolute best, she helps me pick the best styles and colors for me, ensures that the expectations set are realistic for my hair type and natural color. She always makes sure that I’m happy when I leave (which I always am) and suggests great products/cuts for my hair type. She is extremely knowledgeable about the industry and makes sure to stay current on trends. I send anyone who is willing to listen to her to get their hair done. I’ve also had the pleasure of sitting with Johanna and she is also fabulous. I highly recommend this salon and team of stylist.

Very disappointed, I showed a reference which was layered hair with curtain bangs. I had long healthy hair down to my waist when I came in. The hair from my chin to my ears was all cut on an angle, so all the front of my hair was turned into a chin lengthen angled bang where the back was left long. She said that technique was necessary to bend, but I have no more long hair in the front. I looked up other photos of people with curtain bangs and layers and they all still had long hair in the front. I didn’t expect it to be like the reference exactly, but I don’t know how mine was messed up so badly. She blamed it on the texture of my hair and just about every other excuse she could think of, even tried to put curls in my hair but I don’t wear my hair curly and wanted a style that looked good straight. It’s like I have two separate haircuts, short in the front and long in the back, it will take forever to grow my hair out to the point were I can fix this mistake. Very disappointing and sad.
