I have acrylic nails, I’m super picky. I’ve been going here since 2018, when my nail tech of 15yrs relocated. Gel polish bar had big shoes to fill,John has never disappointed! He does an excellent job, my nails never chip, or break. Acrylic nails

Critical: ProfessionalismIt takes a lot for me to leave a negative review for a small business, especially in a time like COVID. However, Gel Polish Bar did not give me the service I came in for and they were extremely rude in the process so I do not recommend that people support this business. I made an appointment for a gel manicure with nail art. The employee on the phone clarified that I was looking for a Halloween design and assured me that would be no problem. When I got to my appointment, I signed in and again indicated what I was there for. Almost 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment I was called from the list where again an employee was able to read I was looking for nail art. I understand every business has staffing issues but given that my overall experience was so poor it’s worth noting that my appointment time was not honored. At the end of the manicure, she was about to do the lotion when I mentioned I was supposed to have nail art too. She pulled out stickers and I pulled up a screenshot from their Facebook page and said actually I am looking for something like this. The employee plain and simply said no. I said it was from their page and if it’s not something they can do I wish I had been told when making the appointment or signing in. At this point, a man who I believe was the owner got involved and told me stickers were “the best they can do” and they don’t freehand designs. I said it was from their business’ page and he informed me they don’t use Facebook. I pulled up the page and he claimed it’s a salon by the same name in Wisconsin. I told him posts say to call them at a number beginning with 781 so he switched his answer to it being their page, but he is locked out of it. I then give the woman who did my manicure my card to run and the manager returns to his station where he loudly yells across the salon that nobody even uses Facebook anymore. I probably could have looked past his lack of sympathy and customer service skills, but drawing the attention of the whole salon to make a rude comment was incredibly uncalled for. The woman who did my manicure did a very nice job, but unfortunately I am uninterested in continuing to give money to a salon with such little regard for customer satisfaction. I immediately went down the street to another salon who redid the manicure to get me exactly what I was looking for while enjoying a respectful and welcoming environment.
