Hello! This is my third time as a walk in for Gabe’s Barbershop. It has a classic atmosphere, and they do an amazing straight razor shave. This time I was in for a haircut which includes a straight razor shave on the back of the neck, and my barber was Christyna. She is very genuine and down to earth. We had a pleasant conversation while she cut my hair. I told her how I usually have my hair done and that I add pomade to it. She even asked if I was alright with the straight razor on my neck before hand. My hair is extremely straight and can be a challenge for hair stylist at times. Christyna handled it like a champ, and didn’t make me feel bad for the fact I’ve been having a hard time with dandruff recently. I’m very pleased with the haircut as its not poofy, and its short for the hot temperatures we’ve been having, and it handles pomade well! Below I have listed photos of before and after the haircut, as well as after pomade was applied. For a $20 haircut I couldn’t be happier, thank you Christyna! I look forward to my next haircut!

Very disappointed. Called the night before to book an appointment. Drove all the way there to be told stylist wasn’t in. Asked if there was any way someone could fit my teen in and they said no. Currently there was only one client in the building. They did try to call 30 min before the appointment; however, my teen didn’t recognize the number so didn’t answer.

By far the best place locally-owned to get a haircut or trim. The establishment is always clean, friendly staff and have a real sincere since of Community. Loved the color I got done & the friendliness of the staff as usual! Gabe’s is usually my #1 go to place for color/cut but with this last experience I really was deeply disappointed. I didn’t appreciate the PRICE CHANGE & ALMOST DOUBLING AFTER SERVICE WAS DONE AS I WAS CHECKING OUT after being told a completely different amount before that. . . That was horrible customer service and it makes me not want to return after being a customer for 5+ years. Please consider updating customers through out the process if you plan on drastically changing the price instead of price gauging after the fact, because you’ve already seen my hair length, thickness, amount of products needed to be used etc. before the fact of being fully done providing services, otherwise everything else is great.

I had Christina during this visit, I only went in for a beard trim and ended up getting a nice shave. She was extremely nice and kept a conversation with me the entire time. I have been here in Chester for just a little over a year and had yet to find someone that would have that interaction during a haircut. In the future she will be my go to.

Very friendly staff! They take the time to actually listen to what you want and ask you questions to be sure they understand. I like that I can book follow up appointments and get text reminders (I’m very forgetful). Price is reasonable at $18 depending what you get.
