We had the most magical experience at Funky Scissors and will definitely be back! We came to the Dublin location for my daughter’s first haircut (at 4 yrs old) and were blown away; it’s incredibly clean, calm, and catered perfectly for kids. I never thought a first hair cut would be so easy – let alone special. My daughter got to choose which fun chair she sat in, watched a favorite show during her haircut (anything on Netflix – kid’s choice!), and couldn’t stop smiling during the “mini-cure”. They go the extra mile to make the kids feel special including adding a braid and glitter hairspray after the cut, painting their nails, and giving them a balloon and goodies afterwards. Her stylist was so engaging and kind! This is clearly a business that puts kids and parents first; my daughter and I both can’t wait to go back for another special experience.

It’s really hit or miss here. We had a wonderful experience with Ciara but had a terrible experience with another stylist. My son has a lot of sensory sensitivities and haircuts are really tough for him. We let her know in advance that the clippers scare him and to start with using scissors. Once she sprayed the spray bottle right in his face, it was over. He was so distraught and it wasn’t looking like he was going to cooperate at all. Then she told me “just so you know, we can’t offer refunds”. I decided to remove him from the situation without any hair cut whatsoever and paid $25 for that experience. Also, you are unable to request a stylist on their mobile site or write any notes on an appointment. We won’t be back.

Worst place ever!! Anyone with a kid knows you can easily run late for appointments. I was late five minutes and the fat lady at the counter who seemed miserable to be working there anyways told me she won’t be doing the haircut for my 15 month old son.

This was my first time taking any of my kids here, I used to go to Cookie Cutters many years ago, and have since pretty much just went wherever was the most convenient like Great Clips or Saturdays. Well, today I went to Great Clips to get my 2-year-old son’s haircut and when he was too terrified to even sit in the chair, the stylist suggested Funky Scissors. So I instantly got their website to check them out and even made an appointment for 1 hour later which gave me enough time to feed the kids and drive over. I am so glad that I ended up there! It was easy to make an appointment and convenient that there was same day availability. The staff was so friendly to my son that was getting his hair cut and even my son that was just along for the ride. And it was even cheaper than I expected! Win win all around! I will definitely be back!

After dealing with a no show at another salon we were able to get into funky scissors last minute. Stacy was very patient with us and I was pleased to find out my daughter was able to get glitter spray and her nails included with her haircut. They saved the day and now my daughter is ready for her last day of kindergarten!!

We can’t say enough good things about Funky Scissors! We took our 2 year old daughter here for her very first haircut and they made it such a special and enjoyable experience! She loved the special seats and got to pick her favorite show to watch. Alyssa (the stylist) even braided her hair when she was done. Even more special- our daughter got her little nails painted pink, which was included. Such a welcoming and fun atmosphere for little ones and as a parent I really couldn’t ask for more! We will definitely be bringing our little boy here when he needs his first haircut as well!

We took our 14 month old son here for his first haircut and Christal did an absolutely amazing job. She was so patient with our son and his haircut came out exactly like we were hoping for. Would highly recommend this place!

Absolutely the best place to get your young ones haircut. Each station has a cool car/truck for them to sit in and watch TV to distract them and keep them more at ease instead of just a barber going to town on their hair, while they have no clue what’s happening and it can be a bit scary for really young tikes.
