Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityThe service is rushed and poor, the quality of product are poor, and the owner (David) is not professional at all.The acrylic was applied incredibly thick and the color of my polish started turning brown after one day. I went in the next day to have the issues fixed but I was ignored by the owner and other staff members. I would not recommend getting your nails done here at all.Services: Manicure, Acrylic nailsThe service is rushed and poor, the quality of product are poor, and the owner (David) is not professional at all.The acrylic was applied incredibly thick and the color of my polish started turning brown after one day. My mother, 2 sisters and I have been going to Friendly nails for YEARS, we loved the original owners and had a very close relationship with them! I haven’t really spoken to the new owners to say anything about them or the place. Reason being, I don’t use any of the new staff, EXCEPT for 2 girls Wendy & Claire that are still there, and I only ever go to them, no one else. Claire is my go to girl, been using her for years!! She’s amazing at full sets, gel manicures, dip powders, you name it and she’ll hook it up! And she’s ever BETTER at pedicures. She’s super cool, hilarious, and very down to earth. She tells you how it is when it comes to your nails and is very honest. Same goes for Wendy! I ONLY TRUST THEM, SO ASK FOR THEM! Claire and Wendy usually book theirs own appointments, and they are a text away. I put 5 stars for Wendy and Claire, but the place over all I’m not to sure about because I have interacted with anyone else there. The place hasn’t really changed or been updated since the original owners.

I have been going to Friendly Nails in Perth Amboy regularly… until now. I never make appointments because I go whenever I have a spare moment. My nails grow quickly so sometimes I don’t even make it a full 2 weeks before returning. Two weeks ago the woman who did my pedicure cut the side of my right foot with the scrubbing rock which resulted in a strange itching pain for days (cured with fungal cream!!!). Gave them another chance today and decided I will never return. I got stuck with a new employee, Paola, super sweet but she is definitely new at this. Do they just hire anyone regardless of their experience? Or lack there of… I understand she’s still learning but I should not have been her guinea pig if she was not ready. My visit lasted a little over 2 hours. She cut my live skin when removing the dead cuticle skin around my toe nails…on every single toe. Butchered the cuticles on my hands, pushed them so far back that I had to pull my hand away multiple times! Cut my live skin surrounding the cuticles…again. And to top it all off she did a terrible paint job! She did not paint the entire surface of the nail down to the (newly formed) cuticle border. There is a gap between where the nail polish ends and where my skin begins as if my nails have grown out for about a week. TERRIBLE.

Staff seemed friendly and my gel manicure came out nice but there were some things that bothered me about this nail salon. Instruments were not sterilized. In fact, I watched them reuse tools on others (myself included). My nail tech kept burning me with the nail drill and seemed like she didn’t have much experience. They charge an extra $5 for chrome colors and $1 extra for using a credit card. It seemed like they were nitpicking with the pricing here.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueToday i went in for an acrylic set removal and a full set. I am at at home nail tech myself do i know to remove acrylic you file it down and soak it in acetone. When visiting Friendly nails the lady popped the acrylic off with a plastic tip. The job was done so poorly that she ripped 26% of my pinky nail off. Then her boss proceeded to come over and put nail glue on my open nail bed where the nail was missing. Which is incorrect once the nail bed is exposed it should be left alone. But i let them continue know once i got home i would take the nail off and treat my now damaged pinky nail. Before applying the tip i asked the man if they had straight tip/Stiletto tips simply because I do not like the curve that comes with the regular tip. He said dont worry ill make it straight which was a complete lie. Over all the experience was poor and i would not recommend anyone to you this place if you value you nail healthToday i went in for an acrylic set removal and a full set. I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Poor customer service. Poor workmanship and extremely long time to get pedicure and manicure. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get pedicure and fill in. The person doing the pedicure took 1 hour to complete. She walked away 3 times in the middle of the pedicure. Worst fill in job and French manicure I have ever seen.
