Well, I have been going there for 2.5 years. They raised the price by $20 after doing my hair..not before but after (from $60 to 80). I went two more times, paying $80.. mind you, 1/4 of my head is shaved… So it’s not a full head.. I will add my experiences were tolerable, not excellent service.

Don’t waste your time or money. I called and asked the price for small knotless braids, was given a price of $170. When i got there she explained the length and price starts out at $170, and if i want it long it would be $190. I agreed to the $170 length. When she got done she told me $190 smh. But my braids are the $170 length, they stop braiding at that length but the hair itself looks long because I’m short. I got there at 9:30 the person who was supposed to do it “Kadi” didn’t come until 10:00, didn’t start right away and kept stopping to watch videos . The top of my hair looks french braided vs singles. Fatima braided most of my back and it feels sloppy. I mean I’ve never had this many issues with African hair braiding salons. A girl came in after me and had longer hair than me for box braids, they charged her $190 and her braids were past her butt. The lady that was doing it was supposed to charge her $220, so that made me feel like the reason they charged me more is because of them mistakenly charging her less. She also was done before me. I didn’t leave until 4:00pm

I made an appointment to get my hair done at 9am and I arrived on time and waited for almost 30 minutes. No one showed up, I called twice and went to voice mail. I returned at 10:23 and someone was finally there. She said to me well I arrived at 9:30, I said my appointment was at 9:00. Of course she had another client in the chair. She asked what color hair I wanted, and then left me and her other client alone in the shop. I was pissed and left. If only I could find a clean and professional hair braiding shop.

After leaving a salon I had a bad experience at, I called them. I was told it would only take 4 hours, and that that style I wanted was $160. Due to the fact I did leave another salon RIGHT before I go there, I combed my hair out (Mentioning this because it will come up later!)

I went in there to get my 4 year old daughter some nice simple feed in braids. Just from the start, the “salon” is the back half of an abandoned store, one wall is lined with knock off purses, and all the seats are broken and old. I told the two ladies working that I wanted 6 looser braids for my daughter and how much would that cost. One of the ladies immediately started work on my daughters head and began talking with the other woman in another language. After a couple of minutes I asked again how much it would cost. Long story short, I asked for 6 looser braids and we ended up paying $55 for 8 super tight cornrows.

While I would like to give this business a great review I sadly can not. I had hoped to get a protective hairstyle for the colder season. My hair was still fairly short so I wasn’t sure if I should get them done. Upon coming in I asked, she stated that it would be more expensive because of my length of hair but that it would still be okay to braid. (I should have trusted my gut unfortunately I did not) the morning after having them done (a total of 6 hrs and $180 dollars) white bumps appeared all around my scalp I wasn’t too concerned but I slightly began to worry. Tuesday afternoon 5 braids fell out. I called asked either for a refund or for them to be redone. I went in the next day to have them redone. She was very nice about it I asked should they all stay in at this point she said yes. My hair was extremely itchy which is to be expected but then my scalp just started shedding. Sunday morning i opted to wash my hair. Three more braids fell out and with one of them a portion of my hair. That’s when i noticed the bulbs of my roots in the front and decided it would be best to take them out. Being that they had only been in for a week and that hair loss was resulting I had hoped that they would refund me the money under these circumstances. They did not and refused. Therefore that lead me to post this review and remember to never just get your braids done just anywhere. Waiting for your hair to grow is better than not having any at all. Hope this review helps others that may be struggling.
