Nicest barber I’ve met. The shop is old but clean. Much like the barber shop I grew up with. Maybe it’s just that good ole nostalgia feeling I like. And a shave with a razor edge to boot was great.

I had been growing my “handlebar” mustahe since quarantine began in mid-March (SIX MONTHS +) and expressly stated that I wanted to keep the length, particulary on the sides. I had been growing my “handlebar” mustahe since quarantine began in mid-March (SIX MONTHS +) and expressly stated that I wanted to keep the length, particulary on the sides. Fred’s Barbershop is the perfect place to get a haircut and shave. The kind of place that is hard to find nowadays. I thoroughly enjoyed Fred and the atmosphere, he has incredibly steady hands, and my face feels unbelievable after the straight razor shave. The best place for a man to get his haircut, hands down! Not a hipster barbershop, but a good old fashioned, short on the sides, man’s barbershop!!! Everyone should experience the lost art of a straight razor shave, I will have to find a place at home to get a shave.

Fred is a great barber and person. I started going here when I changed locations for work and needed a new barber. Very old school looking little shop. No appointments needed, Fred gives a great cut, and straight razors your neck and sides. Offers straight razor face shaves too. Classic barber shop. Prices are ridiculously too low for the service and professionalism you receive. Only $11 for a cut.

I have been to Fred a number of times and have never been disappointed. The first time I went here was before my wedding, and I was very happy with the nice clean lines. I enjoy going to a traditional barber because you can get a hot lather shave and finishing touches are done with a straight razor so you end up with a very, very clean hair line.

WOW!!!! Super cool!!! Real barber. Just like what Al Bundy was looking for when his barber passed away!!! Personable, social, experienced. Excellent haircut. Wears wingtip shoes. First time visitor. Went to his establishment on his ratings and the pictures and I knew he could give me the haircut I wanted. Military. High and tight. $11.00 he charges. Gave him $16 and he was appreciative and thankful. Been looking for new barber. He is the one. Old school and in and out in 20 mins if that. Well worth the drive to Dubuque fr Anamosa. Oh yeah, better have cash. He is old school!!!!! He also does hot shaves that I am looking forward to. Straight blade.Thank you!!!!
