Takia has been braiding my daughter’s hair for about two years now. My daughter is very tender headed and she’s plain but picky about how she likes her hair. She’s never complained about her hair being too tight or about not loving her hair. Takia is quiet but she is very professional and always on time. That means a lot to me because I don’t like my daughter to have to sit around to be waited on. Would and have recommended several people to Takia and will continue to support this business.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThis was my 2nd time going here. I was serviced by Takia, the owner. She was pleasant, polite and quick.. 1st time I had some concerns especially when it came to working with 4c hair but I thought I’d just opt for a different style next time. On my original 2nd appt she Canceled less than 24hrs prior because of hand pain, upsetting but understandable. Now when it came to rescheduling, she was back in the shop a week after her cancelation with me but hadn’t rescheduled my appt, I kept in contact weekly, even after a month later, I still had no appt because she said she had no spots. However her book was still open for appt booking and she was doing hair daily…at that point I just asked for my deposit back, because I was not accomdated or prioritizing after being inconvenienced. 6months later I decided to give her a try 1 last time, because of her creation of BLTs that I’ve never seen anyone else do. I had any emergency call when I arrive to the shop, she asked of I needed a minute, so we started washing my hair just 10minutes after scheduled time. The shampoo girl was having a hard time detangling my hair, as she was using a scalp scrubber and no detangle brush or comb, after 20 minutes and only 1/4 detangled I decided to assist her. 5 minutes in I detangled 1/2 and takia came over and finished the last 1/4 in just 5 minutes. When she proceed to blow-dry my hair at 40minutes into my service, she said she didn’t have time to do the hydration treatment service I had booked because my shampoo session should have only took 15minutes instead of 30 . I asked if we could do 1/2 the time of the 30 minute hydration service instead, she said she has back to back bookings and could not. My service was scheduled from 1:30-5:45. She finished my hair at 3:45. So much for not having time. When I mentioned to her we had plenty time to spare and she thought we were cutting it close, she said she always gives herself extra time…i thought 2 extrs hours …no way. In addition no client was waiting on a service so im not even sure what the rush was about. She made my parts bigger and braids thinner to cut down on time. I wouldve rather her just reschedule AGAIN.
