Love this place! The Decor, the music but what I really love this place for is my Barber/Stylist Dorothy, I just moved to Austin 1 year ago, and have been searching for a salon / barber that compares to the one I had been going to for 20 years, Floyd’s is exactly that and then some! I was very pleased by the quality of the haircut, the atmosphere, and the friendliness of the staff. However, when I was asked for my haircut preference, I was not informed that the skin fade was an additional cost — $13 more than I intended to pay! This is an outrageous extra cost, and I was not informed that it would be any different than the standard Floyd’s Cut.

My first two cuts here were decent, but nothing special. The last one was terrible. I asked for a fade undercut and a beard trim/shape, but what she did instead was just take a 1 to my sides and the back of my head and then gave me a Heisenberg goatee. I won’t be going back.

Thai is an absolute legend and truly a master at her craft!!! I’ve been exclusively getting my haircut from her for the last 2 years and I have never had a hairstylist be so professional, efficient and precise with their haircut work. I typically like to keep my hair in an undercut style and she understands exactly what I want everytime and exceeds my expectations. That wasn’t really what I was hoping for. The lady disagreed with my assessment that I wanted a buzz cut and I got charged for a higher priced cut. I didn’t get the loose hair washed off so I had to go home for that. And it was too short on top before I had a chance to say that’s enough. Compare that to Floyd on Lamar where I had my head rinsed, the barber kept asking me is this fine or do you want to go shorter, and it was cheaper. Sigh. I should have listened to my instincts and gone to sportsclips. Very cool looking place, though.

I tend to go years between haircuts if I dont like the last one I got. Itri fixed my hair before a wedding a few months ago and I find myself automatically going back. I was impressive how he saved me from shaving the side of my own head. That may not seem like much, but its huge for me. The place is spacious and clean and the people are nice. Im not much of a talker so they seem to adjust to that as well. Overall great experience.
