Appointments don’t matter in this shop. I made an appointment a few days prior. The owner confirmed my appointment the night before. When I showed up for appointment at 10 am, I was told I have to wait an hour and a half for somebody to be with me. So, what is the point of having an appointment that cannot be honored? I would maybe have been understanding and considerate if somebody had contacted me close to my appointment time letting me not to show up on time. Totally unacceptable customer service! luckily I walked in to a different shop and had my hair taken care of. Never again will I put my hopes in this shop. Not everybody have the whole day to sit there and wait and pay for it!

So I decided to try this place because of the positive reviews on their quick service. However, I am very disappointed about the amount of time I had to spend here. I scheduled an appointment a day before which was 9am. I received a text the following morning asking can I come at 10am. No problem. When I arrived at ten, the owner informed me that the lady braiding my hair was running 30 minutes behind. Again no problem, I went to get something to eat. Returned 30 minutes later, braider still not there. I sat for an additional 15 minutes before I asked “how much longer before she gets here”? Owner says another 15 minutes. At this point I am annoyed and should have left. She did not arrive until 11:45.

Florence is fast, professional and talented. My “usual” braider was unable to rebraid my front and edges for an event, so I took a risk and googled local braiders. That’s how I found Florence, who had only been open three days at the time. I texted her and she called me back. I arranged to stop by so she could see my hair. Most stylists probably wouldn’t want to do only half a head, let alone work behind another braider, but that didn’t bother Florence. We booked my appointment for the next evening. Not only did she refresh my style, she also removed my old braids AND provided new braiding hair. These are just your basic box braids, but I had more than a basic experience. The salon is neat, new and spacious. Florence also rebraided a few braids that were dangling at the back of my head. She dipped all of my braids in hot water, even the ones she had not rebraided. She moussed, and sprayed and slicked me down with edge control, too. And it only took 2 hours. I’ll be back in April after my vacation for a full head of braids. Florence is my new “usual” braider!

My son has been going to Florence Hair Gallery for years now to get twists and cornrows. Florence is very prompt and professional and her staff is very good.I love the experience with her and the shop is very clean. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Never again. Arrived on time for my 9am (passion twists) appointment and waited about 10-15 mins until the “owner” Flo arrived. She first told me I have a lot of hair, as if that was a problem. You’re in the wrong business if that’s an issue for you as a hair braider. Then told me passion twists don’t last lol. Like, girl do my hair! I take care of my hair very well and have had passion twists plenty times before. I didn’t ask you. She did about 4 twists and then told me she had to run out to pick up another salon chair lol. I was told to move to the couch so another braider could do her client in that chair. I waited over 30 mins for her to get back with the chair which was for ME so she could finish my hair . Took about 3 1/2 hours to finish which isn’t terrible but considering my aggravation I was ready to gtf. Sis had the nerve to say next time the twists will be $200 LOL ain’t no next time chile. She is very much an airhead and silly acting. The other braiders seem to get their clients in and out and their hair looked great. My twists came out OK but not worth all that bull. Customer service super trash but go at your own risk. Only gave them a try because my goto hair braider is on vacation . Can’t wait til she’s back home cause these streets ain’t it lol. Lastly, some Americans can speak French too.
