Fletcher’s barbershop used to be an old- timey shop, with wall memorabilia all over, lots of 3 stooges and funny sayings. It’s been sold twice during Covid. The current owner has made noticeable updates, and while I miss all the wall decor that made it “Fletcher’s”, the changes made, include some new equipment and give the place a more modern / cleaner look and feel. They have some new & younger barbers, but Fletch still comes in a couple of days a week, so my haircut has not changed. The prices have gone up, but still fair, and I believe the senior, veteran, and first responders discount is $5 off regular price. In summary: less Mayberry, and more upscale.

One of Alton’s amazing gems. Take a step back in time, to when men only got their hair cut at a barbershop! Don (Fletcher) and his crew have been cutting hair here for decades. They have the vintage chairs, and straight razors, and some amazing hot foam. Take a load off, have a seat and come out looking spiffy!

I called the phone number online to ask for their price ranges and if they had any openings for the day. Some lady who sounded like your typical “Karen” answered and was very quick to answer before my questions even began. First off she didn’t even answer my question on the price range, she just told me the store hours? I simply replied “Oh, thanks…!” before I could even get my second question in she quickly followed up with a “Goodbye” and hung up on me.
