Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityI have been going to this place consistently for the past year and half. I’ve always been taken care of on time. My braids always look pristine and I’ve done box and tree braids. I love that Cecile does not braid too tight, but yet my braids are secure. Also love that I’m in and out.Service: Braids

The last time I had braids was over a decade so I was very hesitant to style my hair that way. Cécile however made that entire process so easy for me. From the first phone call to the moment I sat at her chair. She was very professional. She did my hair exactly the way I wanted it and it turned out to be fantastic. I was very impressed with her service. On top of it, Cécile was very easy to speak with. We had amazing conversations which made the time pass by.

Critical: QualityI went for big box braids. I showed the stylist what I expected before and during visit. Even brought my own hair and supplies. When the stylist was doing my hair I noticed that they were not doing the style as how I wanted and blamed it to my hair being coarse even though I brought edge control and they had gel as well and she blew my hair out. So then I asked her to make the part smaller so the braids could be more manageable. I never wanted my hair to be heavy or too full as I mentioned when I first inquired about the style. When she was done on my head she used three packs of braiding hair pre stretched. I thought because my hair was wet that’s why it was heavy, or I just wasn’t used to having single braids in a while. When I went home my family members aid my hair was too heavy and too full I tried putting my hair in a bun my neck feels like it’s going to break there’s so much hair on the head. The braids are not the best especially at the root they’re going in all different directions. Overall The stylist is a nice person but it’s way too overpriced for the quality of work that was being done. Singles is not this stylist niche.Service: Hair extensionsI went for big box braids. Critical: QualityThis isn’t a good place to remove your weave. The back of my head is bald after coming here to remove my weave . I had only kept my weave for 5weeks. And I had a full set of hair on my head before putting in the weave. I believe the lady who was taking my weave off didn’t take her time, especially with the middle back section of my hair. And she simply used the blade to cut off my whole hair in the back instead of just removing the extensions. It will likely take me years to grow my hair back and I will need to wear wigs for a long time, unless I want to shave my head.My self esteem/confidence with my hair is super low at this time. And it is very upsetting.Service: Hair extensionsThis isn’t a good place to remove your weave. The back of my head is bald after coming here to remove my weave . I had only kept my weave for 5weeks. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityI discovered First class braiding salon on google. I just moved to the Quincy area and during quarantine time. In desperate need of braids I hit Cecile up hoping she would have space or time for me. Cecile was professional And polite over the phone and tried to work out a time and day that worked best for both of us. I ended up getting six big feeding braids with the hair I provided and it was beautiful!! ♀️ Cecile is super sweet and a nice person and does a great job I will continue to use her services.I discovered First class braiding salon on google. Fast service. Flexible appointment times. Cecile is very sweet. She makes sure you are comfortable, and doesn’t pull too hard on your hair.

I went here for box braids for my junior prom and I loved it. They did a great job with my hair, and the environment was nice. I would definitely recommend coming here!!

I have been going here for sometime and the owner and hairdresser is very nice and she did my hair quite nice and did not take too much time to braid my hair in singles and she was reasonable enough on the price. And the location to the shop is good too, because it’s near the Redline train station which I get near my home and I am sure to be back again

It’s been a few years and I’ve been silent about what happened to me but I’m over it now and can talk about it. Back in Jan of 2016 I went to get faux loc crochet done which I didn’t really want but seems that was more convenient for the hairstyle to do when I brought it up. Any way when I arrived for my appointment there was a gentleman in the chair and I waited for when she was done but it wasn’t to long. As soon as she was done with the gentleman she advised me to come sit down and me not realizing if she had disinfected the comb she just used or did some type of cleaning to it. Well I sat down and proceeded to get my hair done. It wasn’t looking like I expected it to, but I’m not a picky person and I figured maybe because I wasn’t used to the style yet. Towards the end my head just starts hurting so bad that I had to take a Tylenol after and just sit in my car for about 20 minutes before I drove. Now I’ve gotten my hair done before where I’d get a little pain from braiding but this was just excruciating pain! The next day my head was still hurting and I told myself no way it should still me hurting this bad so I texted Cecile and told her what was going on and she asked if I wanted to come back and she would loosen it up but I passed on the offer because of the distance I drove to get there in the first place. I decided to just take the crochet out because I couldn’t deal with the pain. When I took everything out it was a relief, BUT I noticed there were sores on my scalp and now this is the day after getting my hair done! On the second day the sores dried up and began to scab. In order to get rid of the scabs my hair had come out as well, so I was loosing patches of hair! I went to the doctors and it turns out that I had contracted some type of fungal infection and the first thing Dr asked me is if I went to a salon and I told her about my visit. I reached out to Cecile and received no response! I went to a dermatologist who looked into my scalp more and she advised me that there would be a spot on my scalp which was the middle where my hair would never grow back. For months I had to resort to wigs because It was so bad I couldn’t even get braids. I had patches of missing hair on my head. A couple weeks later I reached out to Cecile again not to get a refund of any sort but just to let her know what the doctor said and advised her to maybe start cleaning equipment between clients so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I got no acknowledgement of any sort or any type of apology. My family and friends told me to put the salon on blast or to take her to court but I didn’t even want all that just an apology! The sad thing is that I used to go to her even though she was a bit of a drive, even came from out of state when I moved to get my hair done so I was really disappointed to see how Cecile responded to the situation. After months I finally decided try and braid my hair again because I was pregnant. When I found this new salon I walked in with my own comb and other products and the woman laughed and asked me why I was doing all that and I told her what had happened to me and she understood and respected that. I now go to another salon to get my hair braided where I know and see the proper clean hygiene being practiced. A lot of these fancy looking salons just care about the money and looks but not about the well being of their clients.
