Critical: Cleanliness, ProfessionalismI should have followed my spirit after reviews…Appointment time: 10:amSeen : appx 1:00 pmI originally was going for braidsI let the owner convince me she could do a sew in, with a closure….i say convince because I am bald up top …I went to buy two bundles of hair..I return and she has a relative in her chair and i was sent to someone else to braid it…Then told the other girl would weave/sew in..I said, “wait. You said you would do it!!”.She replied, ” oh she can do it well.”While sitting there a young lady came to have ger hair “fixed”…….i should have known…After getting the sew in started, she comes over..Fina, with the closure and says, “75.”..I reply, “75 what?”..She says,” 75 for closure.”I tell her you never said that !!!Says you dont have to but i ask..then how will she close it????!!!It was clear the girl did not know how as Fina guided her verbally in their language…fina even started some to show her..oh..i missed in the beginning when i asked how the closure would be supported..i sad are you gonna glue it??? She said. No glue…Anyway…she used glue..on my forehead..Why am I posting this…well, not one hour later in the store, the cap is showing…allllllll in the front…$215.00 for sew in+ 75.00 for closure..2 bundles.70.00…grand lesson……respect and learn from the reviews..she is just not an honest professional. Positive: QualityWhen I say I love my hair… I’m not from Austin but I have been here for 2 years now. I’m suppppper picky about my hair but especially my braids… so I was very nervous but as you came see Nena did her thang with my hair. Small box braids super neat. I recommend Nena hands down… it’s the detail for me.Service: Box Braids

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityFina is a very nice person, I have been doing business with her since she opened her shop here. Lately she has been over booking changing appointment times forgetting to write appointments down. This last experience was a little much she did my daughters hair butterfly twist which cost me about $325.00 including the hair. When she finished it did not look like it should, less then a month they started falling out, I called Fina, told her my concern she said my daughter needed a touch up which will coast about $150.00. At this point I am done, I couldn’t believe her response.Fina is a very nice person, I have been doing business with her since she opened her shop here. Fina is a very nice person, I have been doing business with her since she opened her shop here. Lately she has been over booking changing appointment times forgetting to write appointments down. This last experience was a little much she did my daughters hair butterfly twist which cost me about $325.00 including the hair. When she finished it did not look like it should, less then a month they started falling out, I called Fina, told her my concern she said my daughter needed a touch up which will coast about $150.00. At this point I am done, I couldn’t believe her response.

The building was clean and I was greeted with a true smile and honest welcome in, Fina listen to me about the way I wanted my hair and face me to the mirror for the start of my style to make sure the braids were the size I wanted, she continue to check the photo as to stay on course, ( I appreciate that), I let Fina know from the beginning before sitting down that I DO NOT want any scissors ✂️ near my hair at anytime ( I have an unbelievable high ANXIETY level, concerning anyone ever cutting any of my hair again)!!!!!!! I can not write how much I appreciate that scissors was not use on my hair.My braids are a 10+++++ and b/c no scissors was use, I am able to keep going to Fina Salon. Now the price, I ask upfront the cost and rechecked b4 I sat down. My appointment was 1pm …… started 1:10, I call that on any appointment ….. within 15 minutes of an appointment to me is still on time, I didn’t get there until 1:05, so it goes both ways. Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityHad my hair crochet braided here in August for $160 and it took over 6 hours from start to finish. No one was wearing a mask. Made an appointment with the owner but when I arrived someone else was assigned by the owner to do my hair as the owner was finishing up with a client. Crochets take 1.5-3 hours max (3 hours max according to the owner) depending on the skill of your braider. I have shoulder length 4a/b hair and the lady took 6 hours to complete plus I had to come back the next day for her to finish the crown area (45 min). My braider had small child with her on her back and when she let him down he hit one customer with his iPad and spit on another customer. She was distracted trying to handle him. My braider also left in the middle of braiding my hair to go pick up a child from school at 3 pm and that’s the only time the owner (who also braids) stepped in to help her staff member who everyone could see was struggling. I really became frustrated when a customer that came in after me got a whole head of medium box braids and left While I was still trying to get crochet braids finished up. Once my braider returned The owner went back to her office until it was time to process my payment. People get crochets for ease of care and because it takes less time than sitting for regular braids. While my hair style was pretty and held up, it literally took double the amount of time and money It normally does. So lesson learned. Not worth the extra time and money spent. Very disappointed with customer service at Nonye braiding. Made an appointment with the owner but when I arrived someone else was assigned by the owner to do my hair as the owner was finishing up with a client.
