I booked an appointment with “Sunny” Thalia Guerrero and received a haircut from her, and had my hair styled by Danielle. The haircut I received was really well-done, exactly what I wanted, and that is primarily why I’m giving this a 3-star. The rest of my experience there should’ve been better.

Alex is a queeeeeeen! I used to hate getting haircuts and cry after every single one. Not with Alex. She makes me feel so comfortable and really listens to what I want and delivers. I recommend her to all of my curly gals and like me they leave her salon happy. She’s been cutting my hair since 2018 and I don’t plan on leaving her anytime soon ❤️

Never coming back. Got the worst haircut of my adult life here. But I guess that’s what I get for rushing to cut my hair BUT ALSO this place has great reviews so I was expecting a better cut. I even showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like and the type of layers. But she only gave me front layers and they are not that short so now my hair looks like an umbrella or a triangle ️. It’s so unflattering! And the last time it looked like that was when I was 8 and my grandma cut my hair at home.I’ve gotten better haircuts at Dramatics NYC and that is not a curly hair salon. I’m sorry but it really didn’t work for me as I’m still upset about my hair almost a month later.

The salon is very clean and the staff attend to you right away. I liked my haircut. I didn’t care too much for the wash & styling of my hair. Later on that day my hair was so flat and dry. IF THEY MESS YOUR HAIR UP, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN…I will give you the Cliff notes version of my bad experience . I received a bad/uneven/super short haircut with an even worse experience, I had more than 12 inches of hair cut off of the back of my hair without even a warning. When realizing how bad she messed up the stylist ran out of the salon without finishing the haircut. While outside the stylist decided to contact my gf(who she only cut 1time) to ask her to LIE TO ME and say that she(my gf) is the one paying for the haircut so her boss doesn’t find out that she had to comp a haircut for messing up so badly. I emailed the salon asking if a more experienced stylist could at least fix the uneven parts and 2 weeks later, Still NOT EVEN A RESPONSE . Also the stylist said she “didn’t anticipate the shrinkage” when she was cutting it, mind you this is a “curly hair salon” anticipating the shrinkage is literally the reason I went there…Even after such a bad experience, I didn’t make a scene and I still tipped the stylist and the assistant because I didn’t want to be a “problem client”.I didn’t name the stylist because I don’t want to personally negatively affect her livelihood. Before posting any reviews I emailed the salon, trying to figure this out with them but the fact that they couldn’t even respond and it’s been over 2 weeks, that’s just bad business.

I have rather wavy hair and Filament is the first salon that manages to cut it in a way that it looks good. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming and takes their time to make sure the end result is what you want and also something that works for your hair.

I should’ve posted this a couple months back! So I scheduled an appointment with Alexandra after finding her on the DevaCurl website. I really need to get rid of my ends as I’ve been trying to grow out my curls after constant yearly straightening perms. I didn’t know how to manage my curls so I decided to go to a curl professional for once, and thank God I did. Got me my first DevaCut and finally learned what products to use and how to apply it.

Everyone was so nice and I loved my stylist. I asked for a very specific hair color and he delivered, it looks great. My only issues are that my hair was cut shorter than I wanted it, and it is super dry. I said I wanted to maintain the length but just wanted a better shape, even brought pictures. I just think this salon isn’t for type 4 hair. Also, they didn’t deep condition my hair after bleaching it, and I’m not sure what products they used but it is so so dry with barely any curl pattern left. I know this happens with bleach but I’m still pretty frustrated. It’s very difficult when you realize you’ve paid over $400 for short, dry hair. Anyways, I would go back to get color, but definitely not for a haircut (everyone keeps on noticing how short it is before I even say anything) and I would definitely demand to be deep conditioned after coloring.
