The person that cut my hair was really friendly, but that was the only positive. I have thick, curly hair and came in for a wash and to get trimmed up and tame the dreaded triangle hair. A few moments after I came in, another customer came behind whom seemed to be a regular of theirs. My ‘wash’ consisted of my hair literally being slapped back and forth and my neck being sprayed, no shampoo even made it to my scalp. My ‘haircut’ was 4 or 5 uneven snips with shedding scissors (not sure what the actual name is, but it’s the ones that you use to thin out bulky hair) and a straight line along the bottom. Layers left untouched, no checking to ensure sides were even. Everything took less than 20 minutes. I was barely to the front to pay before they were calling their other client back. I am left with a flat line around my hair, uneven chunks in the back, and the triangle shifted slightly upwards.

I can always count on Colleen McCarter to do a wonderful job. I’ve been seeing her regularly for the last two years. She has the experience and expertise one might expect from a higher-end salon. Everyone at it is Fantastic Sams location is always professional and welcoming. I try to make an appointment for a cut and color. Even so I’m usually able to schedule something relatively quickly. Can’t say enough great things about Colleen and the entire staff at Fantastic Sams at Oak Valley.
