It was a dark night and it was raining. Just pulled a rough shift with my partner richard fighting crime he was tired cause he has little spaghetti arms and cant fight too well…hes more of the talk it out kind of guy..but this particular day words weren’t enough to stop the violence festering our city richard looked over and noticed I was starting to look like Maui and said he knows the perfect joint. We pull up to fade mob and see shadows dancing in the windows from a light source inside. Its lively and seemed out of place we got out and started walking towards the door and heard screams richard and bolted for the door wrenching it open we where grating by laughter and smiles the smell of aftershave and cologne was in the air. No one seemed phased by our presence we where told to sit down and enjoy the game on the TV. Richard shook everyones hands. These guys grew up with him. They where family. Something I didnt have. Something I yearned for. A man named tanner approached me and asked what kind of cut I’d like…I told him to make me beautiful, that I wanted to feel like my worth…like a king…..with hands tender and strong he swept me up and put me in his chair. I was taken back by not only his strength but the care in which handled himself and his tools. I was brushed and cut and shaved and even given a scalp massage I was treated with a straight razor finish and my eyebrows where so damn clean that I made disney princes look like straight trash. From that day we stranded bbqs and fight nights I was brought into the fold…if vin diesel was there he would of said something super cool like…family first..or family matters…or something else about family…I found myself home….
