I have been going to see Jyothi Patel for the past 10 years. My mom has seen her for longer, and I was so excited to get my eyebrows done with her when I got old enough! Jyothi is the best esthetician I have ever had shape my eyebrows, thread upper lip, wax my underarm hair, and wax my legs. Her prices are reasonable, she’s honest about what would look good, and what might be less necessary, and she has a great aesthetic eye. Across every treatment that she has ever given me and my mom, she has been consistently incredibly fast and precise with hair, removal and shaping. I have close friends who have moved to the East Coast after seeing Jyothi for years, and there’s just no equivalent esthetician elsewhere. She cares about her clients, and make sure that they look their best. She’s the first person whoever shaped my eyebrows, and has kept the shape impeccable; it is my best feature by far and that’s entirely thanks to her. While I started off with only my eyebrows, which was wonderful, I soon branched off into getting my upper lip threaded as well, which I highly recommend! While it’s a painful hair removal process regardless of who you see, jyothi is so quick and so precise with threading it that it’s over before you know it. Additionally, it makes such a difference with how bright and clean the face feels, so I highly recommend! The same goes for Eyebrows, she has always had a great eye for leaving the right amount of thickness to the eyebrows while making sure the shape is impeccable. This is really important to me, as I don’t enjoy the look of overly thinned out eyebrows, and I have never seen her even come close to removing too much hair. At the same time she makes sure the shape and the arch are perfect and frame the face beautifully. It is a fine line to walk, and she walks it perfectly, and somehow does so incredibly quickly as our appointments (to get my eyebrows, my upper lip, my under arm, and my mom’s eyebrows, and upper lip) are typically 30 minutes or less. Yet in that short amount of time, Jyothi is so thorough with hair removal and so patient (my mom grows a lot of upper lip hair, and she removes every last one skillfully, and quickly; I’m not sure how she does it, but I’m so grateful we found her!) With under arm and leg waxing, she is so thorough and make sure that every single possible hair is removed no matter how fine. On a rare occasion, when I couldn’t get a very last minute appointment with Jyothi before I had to fly out to attend a wedding, I reluctantly had to get my legs waxed elsewhere, and did so in the area and was so disappointed! The price was much higher, and this other esthetician left a lot of hair (the superfine kind that’s harder to remove) on my legs. I am somewhat of a perfectionist, and was pretty bummed. The next time I saw Jyothi the following month, I got my legs waxed by her, and she removed every single hair at the follicle perfectly, and for a much more reasonable price! Take it from me, this place is a hidden gem, and if you want perfect eyebrows, perfect upper lip, perfect, waxing, and quick and friendly service, there is no better place in the bay area to make an appointment
