Critical: ProfessionalismA couple coworkers recommended this salon to me. Their nails always look fire, and they post great work on Facebook, so I’d thought I’d go there to get my birthday nails done. I called beforehand( because I live far away), and ask if I can send a video of what I want to get done, and they gladly obliged.I got my nails done 12/23/21. It is 12/25/21, Christmas.The salon was small, compact, but cute. You can tell they decorate it themselves. Very girly, very pink, very Dominican glam. I’m used to going to Asian salons, so it was refreshing to see Hispanic people doing nails. There was no black nail techs though, not even Afro-Latina. They are not friendly at all. I wasn’t welcomed or anything. I noticed they had a sign that talked about the right to refusing service and that bad attitudes will not be tolerated, and I already knew right off the bat this nail salon has had some drama before. They told me they didn’t have all the materials for the Pinterest design that I wanted, but they could try to match it, and I was fine with that.My nail lady was not friendly at all; no welcome, no hi, nothing. She didn’t cut my nails down before starting the acrylic process. She was rough, and cut me near my cuticle. She didn’t speak English so the language barrier led to my subpar nails. I didn’t want to keep pointing out errors so I ended up giving up and not say anything, and let the lady do my nails.My nails cost $135 and I gave her a $20 tip. They do not take card, debit nor credit as a precaution. Cash only. When I got home and examined my nails, I saw some beads weren’t placed properly. They look AMAZING from far away, but close up you can see the errors. In the pictures, some of the beading errors came off (thank God), but as you can see she did not file under my nail correctly. I have cured acrylic spillage on the sides of my nails still, and stuck on my skin. Some of the shaping looks a bit off, and the acrylic is too thick. I get a lot of compliments on my nails, but I’m super disappointed because they could’ve done a way better job with service and hospitality overall. I spent up to $80 in Uber rides and $235 in total with my nails (plus tip) for a bad experience. I will not go there again.Service: Acrylic nailsA couple coworkers recommended this salon to me.
