I came to Coco because I have been avoiding doing my hair for about a month and expressed that to her. I never got the vibe that she was judging me, but felt instead that she saw my struggle and understood it. I told her my concerns about how previous stylists have treated me, and again, I felt like she understood. She took the time to explain to me the state of my hair, and gave me recommendations of how I can care for it in-between time, in the meantime. I told her I wanted a very low maintenance style and she gave me exactly what I needed, but couldn’t envision what I really wanted. I had never had my hair styled in perm rods or flexi rods of the style she suggested and was a little nervous, but when I saw the final product I was haaaappy and my confidence was boosted. Finally, I loved that she made herself available and accessible to me if I needed questions. Coco I know you will see this so THANK YOU. She is probably one of the best people I know in any profession that has a comforting bedside manner. She also took into consideration why the state of my hair was the way it was, such as stress, was I taking any vitamins, possible health conditions, etc. I would recommend going, especially if you have natural hair and is struggling with it like me.

I booked an appointment with only expectations of what my hair would end up looking like, but as a first time client, this ended up becoming a life changing experience. I felt so comfortable being serviced by the owner and I don’t get to say that a lot. I’ve been through so many beauticians and of course I’ve been satisfied with the outcome, this is the first time I’ve ever thought about how underrated comfort is and how important it is to use discernment when choosing someone to do your hair. She’s very natural hair friendly and is passionate about what she does and the state of your hair, the goal for her isn’t about just taking your money and getting you out the chair, she’s very knowledgeable about hair maintenance and is compassionate about all life situations and different ranges of your wellbeing that affect the routines of how we do our hair. She’s very analytical, just from looking and touching your hair she can get a clear idea and spot on interpretation of what you’re doing right with your hair and what could be done better. I literally went into her establishment feeling depressed and hopeless that my hair could recover.
