She utterly transformed my hair style and color, just weeks after I had it done at a well-known NY salon, where I was miserable about the results. There are not enough words to convey how grateful I am to Alina! Her skills, her concept, her warmth, personality, perfection, wisdom, and talents are so rare and so pure! I will have to fly down to Boca Raton every few months for the rest of my life, as I will be unable to live without her MASTERY!!A few weeks before I came down to Florida and found the Miracle of Alina Gelke and the Graciousness of this superb salon, Everything Hair, I had had my hair fully-highlighted and cut at a salon in which I had been going to in NY– by the same stylist I had been seeing. But this last particular time, the stylist did a really poor job on my hair and I was so miserable! I hated the highlights–they were not light enough–and my haircut was awful and uneven. If that wasn’t bad enough, she put on an horrendous ashy glaze that made my head a heavy, mousey brown. I went back to the salon, and my stylist was not there that day, and another stylist tried to remove the glaze and told me I should not try to lighten the highlights at this time, even though they were not close to the color I had expressed I had wanted..I was so self-conscious and unhappy with my hair, but I just let it be. I flew down to Florida for a short trip, and one day, just unable to live with my hair any longer (I didn’t know who to call, as I was visiting friends in Boca Raton and didn’t know any of the salons or stylists there) I looked on Google and saw a salon that was open at the time–on a mid-Sunday- afternoon, I called, and the receptionist was so understanding and patient whilst listening to my hair dismay, and she said she had the perfect person to “fix” my hair–this person was a highly qualified color expert–and she would be able to see me as soon as I could come in. I got lost on the way to the salon, even though it would be easy for anyone else to find. I called and expressed my concern for my lateness. The receptionist still told me to come, my stylist would wait for me. I finally arrived, frazzled, but every one at the salon was so compassionate and immediately made me feel welcome. From the moment I met Alina–who had worked at a top NYC salon for 16 years–she proficiently took over my “tragic hair.” I knew I was in the most talented, professional hands. She pointed out the streakiness of the highlights, she pointed out the unevenness and unattractiveness of the cut, the poor condition of my hair, the unflattering color tone. I didn’t even see the things she saw, I just knew I hated it–but she never tried to dictate how she would proceed forward. She gently asked me if I would like the back cut more in a curve for the shape of my neck and head? If I would like warmer, more caramel tones to soften my face? If it would be all right if she performed this technique of teasing the hair and then hand-painting the selected strands? (Similar to Balayage, but she called it something different, I wish I knew how to spell what she called it.) She would backfill the color. She would make the colors blend, She would cut my hair to frame and flatter my face, to make the maintenance carefree. She would apply a gloss to condition and shine it up. And she did all of that and more!! THE RESULTS WERE MAGNIFICENT!! I have NEVER, EVER felt so pretty and confident about my hair!! I get endless compliments from friends, and have even been stopped on the street by someone in The Hamptons who asked where I got such beautiful highlights, and who cuts my hair? And I told them–“You’ll just have to go to Alina Gelke, at Everything Hair!! Lastly, everyone I met who works there ( I wish I can remember all of their names?!) are just The Best in Every Way–I am so, so impressed and moved! I just can’t believe I found this salon on Google, it was a life-changing experience for me! I am truly incredibly particular and started off with a consultation with Amanda who patiently listened and then gave her professional opinion, which sealed the deal to continue with my color. I was impressed by her knowledge and vision and felt very comfortable. My hair came out spectacular, and I booked through the end of the year! She is a lovely person who loves her craft and it shows in her work and interaction with her clients. Everyone in the salon was friendly and warm.Since I had self isolated because of the pandemic, I was anxious about my visit; however, I was impressed with the cleanliness and provisions for safety provided for their clients and staff. Temperatures were taken upon entry, everyone in the salon was expected to wear a mask, and the salon was set up for social distancing which was accomplished by fewer appointments and salon chair set up.The owner, Peyton, has provided an inviting, safe, care environment for her clients, and I highly recommend Everything Hair.I had my first appointment today at Everything Hair. Critical: QualityWent to everything hair for years, was wonderful. business changed owners about 6 months ago. Place not the same. Staff completely different. Owners do not cut hair or know the business I learned from my colorist. I complained to her about my awful haircut there. They Hire kids out of school that are inexperienced yet want to charge high prices. It was very obvious. Went to everything hair for years, was wonderful. business changed owners about 6 months ago. Place not the same. Staff completely different. Owners do not cut hair or know the business I learned from my colorist. I complained to her about my awful haircut there.
