Critical: Professionalism, QualityWent to this location for the first time because the the nearest location to my home was not yet open. Booked a Wax for me and one for my friend. It was her first time there. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told that her appointment was cancelled because the person who was waxing her did not show up. The receptionist then claimed she called several times but could not get through, when I’m fact she only called once when we were already in route. I explained to her that the appointments were made together and that they could have called me since I booked both of our appointments. She then decided she could fit her in 40 mins after my wax appointment. They also failed to mention that since it was her first wax, she qualified for a free service. Then the person who did my Brazilian wax didn’t seem very friendly at first, she took her time pulling off the wax, which made it 10xs more painful and I still had wax left on me when I got home that hurt to pull off. I am usually not one to complain, but I will never go back to this location. Sunny saved the day! I came in for an underarm wax at the first AM apt and when I went home there were some patchy parts left over. I called to ask if that was standard and she accommodated a touch up apt which is a standard practice at EWC. I came in for the touch up with the same person who did my AM wax and she was very understanding and got rid of the patches for me and left my underarms looking flawless. Thank you Walnut Creek EWC, now I can dance the night away with my strapless dress at my friends wedding!!

I’ve been going for a long time but I went on 5/5 and the esthetician did my Brazilian in 3 big swipes of wax. Which not only is way more painful on the client (I’ve been doing this long enough to know the normal amount of discomfort) but also proved to be much less effective. It broke all my hairs and now 4 days after my apt I have significant regrowth. She was lovely and made me feel super comfortable but maybe just going over best practice with the employees would help prevent this. all my other trips have been 5 stars!

Had my appointment rescheduled 3 times in the same day. By the time the waxer got there for the 3rd rescheduled appointment, she was late and I still had to wait another 15 minutes for her to get set up. I just walked out and went to a different location after that.
