My last appointment for waxing I was charged for the service provided when I wasn’t suppose to be. I showed the promotional free service email to the receptionist and everything was all good. Once my appointment was over, I tipped my wax specialist and once again discuss the promotional free wax service and the receptionist was like okay you are all set, and I leave. Moments later I get a notification from my credit card that I was charged for the service. I called and the receptionist although apologetic said she’d call the manager to rectify the matter, she couldn’t reverse the charges. Needless to see nearly three months later, never heard from anyone. Contacted “corporate” and was told I had to deal with the individual center regarding the matter. And still yet nothing. Only continue to come here because the wax specialist I usually book with is so awesome. Although, any wax specialist I’ve utilized in the past have all been good.

It has been 79 days and I am still growing my eyebrows back in after Elizabeth absolutely ruined them. We arrived 10 minutes before our appt [ both my daughter and I ] and after waiting 10 min past our appt time, the staff said Elizabeth was running behind. In total we waited 35 minutes to be seen. This was my daughter’s first time getting her eyebrows waxed so I went first. I don’t get my eyebrows done but bc I wanted my daughter to see what to expect, I went first and just asked Elizabeth to “clean them up”. My eyebrows are pretty full but definitely could have used a little shaping. She placed the wax above and below my eyebrows 3 times before I asked what was happening. She said my hairs were stubborn. After some time I realized things were not going right and asked for a mirror. I looked like I walked straight out of the 90’s. My shape was completely gone. Both eyebrows were taken in way too far and they were like straight lines for lack of a better description. They werent even. I was stunned. Bc school was starting in 2 days, I told Elizabeth she could do my daughter bc I only wanted the hairs between her eyebrows removed and under her brow. I told her I was going to watch as she did it bc I told her mine were not at all only cleaned up. I should have walked out but I was stunned and I knew how badly my daughter wanted hers done before school started and I didnt know if I could get her in anywhere else. My daughter laid down on the table and I stood very close. Elizabeth did one run through between the brows which was fine but then she went back in and I could tell she wanted to take them in even more. I told her to please not take off anymore there and just take the stray hairs under the brow. She told me to “get out”. She said I needed to go wait in thr waiting room. I told her I wouldnt leave bc she had butchered my eyebrows. She started screaming for us to “get out” and then elevated to ” get the hell out” all while my daughter was lying on the table below her. She said something to the effect of we were taking to much of her time and bc of us she was running late. I told her we got in here 35 min after our appt and she again told us to ” get out”. The staff and customers waiting in the waiting area heard some of this. I told the people behind the counter what happened and that Elizabeth essentially through us out. There were 2 people answering phone and someone who said her name was Rachel and a manager. She wanted to step outside bc one person waiting just walked out and I think she was worried I was making the people upset. Rightfully so if they were waiting for Elizabeth. Rachel said she would have Michelle take care of my daughter. We had to wait another 15 min for Michelle. Overall Michelle did a nice job on my daughter after I explained that I didnt want her to have a lot of maintenance. Rachel and Michelle looked at my brows and they conceded that they ” were a little uneven ” and the one was taken in just a bit too far “maybe by just a few hairs”. Rachel gave me some syrum to help grow the hairs back and I thought I shouldnt need this. How does a clean up end up being pencil thin. I relayed everything to Rachel that transpired. I told her I would like a call back to let me know how Elizabeth is disciplined not only for the eyebrow job but her screaming at my daughter and I. She said she would call me back. Next day she called and said left a vm message saying she was very interested in hearing my side of the story. I didnt know why bc I had literally told her the story just yesterday. Nonetheless I called her back and left messages with live staff requesting a call back. I called 7 times and left 7 messages. Never heard a thing back. I then tried to file a complaint with the licensing board but I thought I would need Elizabeth’s last name. I called and requested this information stating why I needed it and was outrightly refused. 3 times. Nothing. I tried to contact upper management via the website and again nothing. Elizabeth is not at skilled in neither her trade nor in speaking to customers.

I have been using this location for months and seeing Elizabeth pretty religiously, like every two weeks! Everytime I walk in the receptionist tells me she’s behind, I usually don’t mind at all…this time was ridiculous. I walked in at 325 (8/9/22) when my appt was at 330. The receptionist says Elizabeth is 30-45 minutes behind. Which is crazy because two weeks prior she told me elizabeth was the closer and wouldn’t be there until 230 that day…anyway I said fine but I’m going to leave and come back and asked her if that would lose my place in line and she said absolutely not. I leave at 3:35, come back at 4 o’clock and the receptionists have changed shifts and and the prior shift receptionist did not communicate any of this to them so they have no idea what I’m talking about. Meanwhile Elizabeth’s 4 o’clock appointment is there waiting. The front desk became a cluster, they couldn’t figure out how they were going to fit everybody in. I’m not sure of the other waxers name but she was trying to be very helpful to make sure everybody got in. Elizabeth eventually comes out with her previous client, they are all trying to figure out the disaster that’s ensuing, so I ran to the restroom thinking I would be next. I come back and Elizabeth is taking her 4 o’clock client back when I was her 330 and should have been next. I ended up walking out at 415 with 0 service. Now I have all of my wax passes and do not want to go back! Absolutely insane. I’m truly mind blown by the entire thing.

While the experience was initially good, the service provided and the aftermath have been terrible. My wax was not done correctly and when I called I was told that she’s had a lot of complaints of her services and she was being let go that week. Except apologies I was not offered any compensation, so I asked for a refund, and was told someone higher up has to approve it. It has now been over 3 weeks and every time I’m told the manager will call me back when they come in they don’t and I have to call back myself to get status on my case.

Since I’m visiting the area, this was my first time at EWC. The front desk staff and customer service on the phone were very polite and courteous. For my brazilian, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Michelle was so diligent, and, got every single hair out. Can’t remember the last time that happened. She’s very personable and I highly recommend her.
