Beware of this place. I have problem skin and currently see a dermatologist. I use retinA, which acts as a very potent defoliator. When I booked my appointment for a deep peel I made sure to mention that I am using it. She responded that as long as I am off retinA for one week, I shouldn’t have any problems. I did just that and skipped using retinA for 7 days, and on the day of my peel appointment I saw my dermatologist who said absolutely no deep peels unless I am off retinA for at least 3 weeks, otherwise I will get severe burns and hyper-pigmentation. That already should have raised a red flag, but I wanted to do the peel so badly, that I called the spa and asked if I could have their mildest peel, which is Vitamin C. Have I known that in advance, I would never even book this appointment in the first place since that is not a service I have asked for. But ok, I showed up for my appointment on time to have Vitamin C peel. The lady started telling me how I need to use skin care products recommended by her. I let her know that I am using a moisturizer recommended by my dermatologist and I am not comfortable and not going to change it. She informed me that if I do not use products recommended by her I will not see the desired results. Well, since I did not want Vitamin C peel in the first place, and she told me there will be no result, I told her I do not want to proceed with the peel. She responded that it is their policy and I have to do it. Wait what? So it is not about my skin, but about the office policy. Now, a few words about the policy. When I walked in I was asked to sign that policy that clearly states that customers get charged full amount for service if they miss it for the SECOND time. Since this was my first and only time I felt like the policy did not apply to me and left. As I was leaving she screamed she will still send me an invoice. By the time I walked to my car I was so shaken up, at the moment I thought, well, if I end up paying for this I might as well go ahead and get it. You see I am in medical school and my finances are a little bit tight right now, and this is not cheap for a student. So I returned and asked to have a service since I will be charged for it. She screamed that I am being aggressive and need to leave otherwise she calls the police. I was not able to even get the copy of the paperwork that I have signed.
