Hi. I wanted to share a story about my 1-yr grandson falling on the pavement in front of Essentials on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He cut his face and as my daughter was trying to console him, she noticed one of Essential’s hairstylists looking out the window and pointing directly at them and laughing. My daughter said that Karma would one day address the hairstylist’s blatant lack of compassion, especially for a hurt infant; however, I am an impatient grandparent and sometimes deal out karma on my own. So Essentials, are all your staff as horrible as the one laughing at my grandson’s pain???

My normal salon closed due to COVID and I decided to give essentials a try as my mom recommended it to me. I came into the salon with thick nearly waist length hair and wanted two inches trimmed and long layers. I left the salon with a choppy layered cut that is closer to 6 inches shorter with the longest layers barely reaching my chest. This cut may be cute on someone else but is not what I asked for since I loved having long thick hair and only wanted 2 inches trimmed max. It is also incredibly thin at the bottom which makes it look even shorter. I’ve worked at a salon in the past and know it’s important for communication to be clear at the beginning of the appointment so I was surprised by the outcome of my hair being completely scissored. I know it will grow, but I wish I trimmed my hair myself now that I have a hairstyle I don’t feel comfortable with.

LOVE this SALON and I adore Kate. From the minute you walk in everyone is so friendly and literally start to pamper you. I am super picky about my hair, and I was driving an hour into the city before I met Kate. Kate has my color perfect every time, and she has me on the perfect schedule which saves me money, but keeps my grey out of sight. I LOVE the way she cuts my hair, and thanks to her I finally have my long hair style that I always wanted, but didn’t think I had the hair for. I can’t say enough about how happy I am to have found such an awesome salon and amazing stylist so close to home. My entire family, including my husband, all now go to Kate. Highly Recommend!!

Best haircuts I’ve ever had; best color I’ve ever had. Appointments are made in a timely manner – the customer service/attitudes of EVERY person I’ve encountered in this Essentials in Valley Square has been top notch! I’ve always loved the products anyway, & regularly purchase them. One real perk is the free “bangs trim” in between haircuts – I always, however, give a tip to the person, just because I think it’s only right to do so! (& every stylist who has done my bangs has been impeccable too). The two primary stylists that I have gone to have been Brittany & Myah. However, some of my dear friends routinely have services with others, whom they rave about. My husband has also started going here – his stylist was Mae. Best haircut he has had in YEARS! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

I loved everything from start to finish. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. It was a nice, relaxing atmosphere. I loved the hot towel they use when conditioning your hair. And Ashley was great! Couldn’t be happier with my cut. I have been searching for someone to do my hair and do it well, but haven’t had any luck… until now! I will definitely go back to Essentials!
