Critical: ProfessionalismPicture was shared of color that was desired. Stylist was late by about an hour, but did provide advance notice by 30mins before the appointment was scheduled. 7 long hours, hair was bleached, then toner was applied that was supposed to be the color in the picture. Stylist said not to look until styling was done, and said keep in mind this is as dark as it will be…my hair virtually got colored back to the same color as my natural hair! No hint of lavender, just brown. Roots were supposed to be burgundy, they came out purple but so subtle it was hardly noticeable at all. I told the stylist I wasn’t sure how I felt about it there in the salon before even paying. She offered to fix the roots for free if I decided I didn’t like it. If I had had any additional time whatsoever I would have stayed there till it was corrected, but I had no more time. I even had to arrange a pickup for my child at school, it was taking so long. Now if I had known it would ultimately not be resolved, I would not have paid and demanded it be fixed then and there. But I was already there all day. I contacted the stylist directly and reminded her that I didn’t really like it when I left but that I had a proposal to fix it – refund me x amount of dollars and the stylist would keep the money for the products that were purchased and the tip given, and then above that was an additional $70 to the stylist that would hopefully cover the product. Refund was refused. Stylist got a little snarky saying it was explained it would be darker because my hair didn’t lighten enough…darker is an awfully relative term. It was supposed to be lavender but it was just brown. Stylist said no refund because her time and product needed to be paid for, but in the proposed partial refund I thought I was being fair by leaving the tip to her plus the $70. Stylist said I could come back in and she’d consult on the root…implying to me that the length would not be corrected. Well I don’t have hours on end to spend again, this was like a one time thing, and the root color desired plus brown hair does not look good at all. It was a horrific dye job. I tried to get hold of the owner through their Facebook page, but apparently all of the stylists have access to the messenger and trying to get the owners number was a failed attempt so with the messenger not being private I don’t want to tell this story where every stylist sees it. Plus I’d really have no clue who I’d be talking to, anyone could pretend to be the owner since they all have access. So since I can’t contact the owner directly, I just decided to review it here. The stylist I had did fantastic hair cuts, but I will not be going to her ever again, and will steer clear of escentia salon all together. I was ripped off, no reasonable reconciliation was offered, and I couldn’t even contact the owner to show just how far off the mark this was. Poor business practice that no one will give you the owners number. Hate that I have to find someone else to cut my hair…but definitely beware if you’re going to get color.
