Envee Hair Studio and Spa

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueOkay. Maryah is rad. I had such a great time coming in here last week. I’ve been wanting to cut all of my hair off again for a really long time. But Chico is tricky – I looked up numerous stylists, many who clearly do great work, but their portfolios all seem to be surrounding balayage/color melts/etc. and long hair styles & updos (that could just be a result of the desires of the community, too, it’s really hard to tell). Obviously short haircuts can be a real tricky leap of faith, but I also have this curly hair with a mind of its own, so… I need to *know* I’ve got someone who knows how to sweet-talk it.Then I found Maryah at Envee. She rocked it.I will say at first she was maybe slightly reserved, but people – you gotta realize the sheer span and intensity of attitudes from clients that a stylist is confronted with on a daily basis (side note: mechanics & anyone in the service industry knows all about this too). It can cause the very best of us to learn caution with new clients or customers.Doesn’t matter. After a couple minutes, we were chattin’ away. She’s a super smart, interesting lady, and *skilled*. It’s abundantly clear she’s worked hard in this business for a long time. And then the next thing I knew, the cut was done. And it was freakin’ effin’ fabulous.I’m going back to her in a couple weeks to get a touch up before one of my best gals gets married in Southern California. Gotta show up on point with those cats. Pinkies out.And a bonus: Love the open, spacious floor plan/layout of the salon, nice high ceilings, and the clean, tasteful aesthetics throughout; lovely professional space.Pardon the long story, but it’s good to be stoked. Okay. Maryah is rad. I had such a great time coming in here last week. I’ve been wanting to cut all of my hair off again for a really long time. But Chico is tricky – I looked up numerous stylists, many who clearly do great work, but their portfolios all seem to be surrounding balayage/color melts/etc. and long hair styles & updos (that could just be a result of the desires of the community, too, it’s really hard to tell). I went and got a Balayage done with a stylist, Sarah, who did a phenomenal job. She is very professional and takes her time to do it right. She puts in a great deal of care and pride into her craft. I had contacted her for a slight issue with preferences and she met my needs with grace and patience. Very calm and extremely pleasant to talk to and work with. I highly recommend this salon if you are looking to get any services. I’ll be back!

Critical: Punctuality, Quality, ValueI was given a bowl cut style bangs here, I even went to get them trimmed up to what I actually wanted and still wasn’t given what I asked for. The hair stylist told me they deal with pretentious people all day and then asked if I wanted my eyelashes done. No thank you, to all of it. I ended up going to a different salon and got what I asked for, except Envee cut way too far back into my hairline, so it’ll be 3 years or so until the hair that shouldn’t have been cut is the same length as the rest. Thank goodness for bobbie pins. I realize people tend to be unhappy with haircuts, but I’m writing this as a BIG warning to others. Go some place else!!! I did in the end and I wish I had in the beginning. I was given a bowl cut style bangs here, I even went to get them trimmed up to what I actually wanted and still wasn’t given what I asked for. The hair stylist told me they deal with pretentious people all day and then asked if I wanted my eyelashes done. No thank you, to all of it. Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, ValueI had booked Envee Hair Studio for hair and makeup for my wedding with the trial of hair and makeup for my engagement photos. I had booked the appointment a couple months in advance and needed to change the date to a couple days later as my photographer was not available on the original date. 3 days in a row before my appointment I received 3 email confirmations but they were all for haircuts. I did not receive any phone calls the week of the appointment. The day of my hair and makeup trial I arrive at the salon and am told that the stylist is not available that day and was asked if I still wanted my scheduled haircut. I never needed a haircut, just hair and makeup for my engagement photos which were that night as well as hair and makeup for my wedding the following month. I dont know why I was booked for 3 haircuts instead of the wedding hair and makeup as originally scheduled. Since the stylist for hair or makeup was not available I was given the option for a blowout and curls, which I declined as that is not what I wanted nor what my appointment was for. I left the studio very upset as my engagement photos were that night and I then had to find another place or cancel my engagement photos. I moved out of state after covid and had traveled nearly 2000 miles and took a week off of work for pre wedding arrangements and engagement photos, so I was very upset. I did end up finding another salon and makeup artist thankfully, after calling literally every place in Chico. So my day was saved, hair, makeup, and engagement photos turned out amazing but no thanks to Envee. I do not plan on going to Envee for my wedding hair and makeup either.
