I have muscular legs and suffer from tender calves. I’d been contemplating a leg massage for months; but, never seem to have enough time to drive to the mall. I decided to go on Sunday, my day off. I asked for a 30 minute leg massage. The male therapist suggested a 30 minute leg massage; and, a 30 minute back massage. I agreed. What did I get? I got a light 45 min back massage and a good 15 minute foot massage. Upon conclusion of the session I was surprised. He’d only briefly touched either leg. I told him my calves hurt and need to be massaged. I directed his attention to my right leg calf and traced the painful areas with my fingers. He omitted my left leg altogether and briefly (seemingly grudgingly) massaged the outer part of my right thigh. He never touched either of my calves. I’d driven all the way here on Sunday and gotten nothing I wanted; so, again, with renewed resolve to communicate my desires, I demonstratively kneaded each calf, wincing to show my calves were my point of pain. I said I’d pay extra. Please massage here I pleaded. After a few grunts, the therapist acted like he didn’t understand and walked to the front counter where there were 3 people seated and waiting; my session was OBVIOUSLY OVER and he’d wholly and completely omitted touching my calves. Sadly, for the cost of 65.00 including 10.00 tip, I GOT NO RELIEF. Wasted a 2 hours of my Sunday. Find a real massage therapist; maybe, one that speaks English.
