Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI don’t know about you, but I’ve found the last few months to be a wee bit stressful (hello, Covid: I’m lookin’ at you). To add to pandemic anxieties, I drove across the country from California to be with a family member who was dying of cancer. He passed away last month. 🙁 Getting a massage in the midst of all this seemed decadent, maybe even dangerous—the irony being, of course, that I needed a massage more than ever.I know the importance of self-care during times of stress and grief. And my body and heart were both so sore. Ultimately, I decided to put up feelers to see if I could (safely) get a massage while in Pennsylvania. I did a thorough search of massage therapists around Lancaster, and was impressed with what I read about Rebecca at Enci Wellness. Not just her rave reviews, but the fact that she was taking extra precautions to keep herself and her clients safe.I filled out a Covid questionnaire beforehand—which I was happy to do—and Rebecca did a temperature check upon arrival. We both wore masks, and she was attentive and caring as she listened to me talk about my body’s aches and pains.Honestly, before I went in, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to relax during the massage. I mean, hell—I haven’t been touched by anyone other than my partner for the last four months! But the bed was so warm, and the music so soothing, I found myself melting at Rebecca’s touch. She was both firm and gentle, checking in with me to make sure the pressure was right, then providing a truly exquisite massage. Let’s just say, if you have not had the unique experience of drooling into your own face mask, I highly recommend it.Somehow, Rebecca has managed to carve out a safe space in the midst of a very scary time. She even has hand sanitizer ready when you come out of the room! She gave me a way to heal and care for myself without unnecessary risk. I walked away feeling a million times better, and so very grateful. My recommendation? Treat yourself. You’ve survived Covid-19. You deserve it!I don’t know about you, but I’ve found the last few months to be a wee bit stressful (hello, Covid: I’m lookin’ at you).
