I went to see Katie today for a Basic Haircut. After telling her what I wanted, she let me know each step she was doing. The head and neck massage felt amazing! I left the salon feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I have seen Jo also. She made my blonde hair dreams come to life. I saw Hannah, and had an incredible experience! The salon is so relaxing right from the start, and everyone is helpful and so kind! The head and neck massage was very nice and relaxing, also as a mama to young children it was very nice to go to a salon that has a minimum age of 12 so it was a very restful experience. Tried this salon twice and was very pleased with the environment-it is a beautiful salon, and very peaceful. They put a lot of effort into making your visit be more than just a service-but a soul-nourishing experience. The staff is professional and kind. The complimentary massage was honestly my favorite part. Unfortunately, I was less than thrilled with the cut, itself, both times. The first cut was done with skill, it just didn’t achieve what I was looking for; namely it didn’t even out my uneven bits, and didn’t quite achieve the dramatic layers I was seeking. However, she did keep my length and gave me the shaggy style I wanted. I just didn’t really get to play with it for a few days, and by then l, was out of the three-day window allotted by the salon. On top of that, I wanted to let my scalp rest, as it had a reaction to the shampoo & conditioner used, and I woke up with a few small bald spots where I already had thinning hair, the morning after. But my skin is very sensitive-so unless you also have a very sensitive scalp, I’m sure it’s a wonderful product line. By the end of the first cut, I sense the stylist felt a little out of her depth, and kindly suggested I see the “curl expert” stylist for my next visit. I did so for my second visit, but I have more wavy hair than curly, so the “curl cut” wasn’t quite right, either. I did get the more dramatic layers I was looking for! But instead of keeping my longest layer long, I lost 2-3 inches, and STILL didn’t have my hair evenly cut. Honestly though, I have VERY difficult hair, so it’s not that they did a bad job or are not knowledgeable -I just require a bit more expertise I guess. Everyone is very nice. I’m sure folks who don’t have excessively difficult, wild hair like me will very much enjoy their experience with this salon! It’s just not the right fit for me, so my search continues.

It is always a relaxing experience getting my hair cut at Ema Rose Hair! I have had only possitive experiences here from the few experts who have cut my hair in the last couple years. I just got a trim done by Katie Johnson. She was very attentive to what I wanted, and the cut turned out better than I expected. I have never been so pleased with the shape and body in a layered cut!
