Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI noticed the Elizabeth Jacob Spa a couple of years ago on SpaFinder & waited far too long to go.If you’re reading this right now, so have you! If you’re looking for a place to escape & truly find a REAL spa – it’s nestled among the NCR trail here w/ the Gunpowder river as your view and soundscape. Close to most of Baltimore or Harford County, I feel like I found “my spa! Even though I was calling on a Thursday for services that coming Saturday. Elizabeth, the best receptionist, called back w/the most amazing day-long itineraries for both of us. When we showed up we were led upstairs to their beautifully equipped locker room that comes w/complementary everything, including lovely shower & amazing hair/skin products. We opened our assigned lockers & hand-written personal itineraries were inside w/luxurious robes & slip ons. You’re then led into their relaxation lounge where you can pick from oversized chaise lounges w/ fresh blankets all nestled in front of a fireplace w/the river outside the cottage like window. Every spa service came w/the option to start out in their complimentary dry sauna, where a bucket of water infused w/essential oils awaited you to be poured over the heated lava rocks, melting away all tension. After 20 min in the sauna, my facialist Daria, led me to a beautiful room & chatted about my options, choosing the hydrafacial which was AWESOME! Daría was beyond amazing & customized the entire experience for my needs. My friend was blown away with my immediate results! Next I had my 75min massage w/ whom I later found out afterwards was the owner & practitioner extraordinaire, Amy! It was as though her fingers were metal detecters for “THAT spot” & took away pain I was struggling w/using the perfect pressure. While my friend was enjoying her 2hr massage I went downstairs to their salon for an over-due hair cut/style from Patty who was also beyond amazing! Not only was it a great haircut, she taught me things about my own hair I’ve had for 39 years that I never knew before and I’ve received numerous compliments since. As though this day couldn’t get any better we were then treated to a spa lunch back in the relaxation lounge sourced from a local bakery that was so fresh, decadent and healthy all at the same time. We rounded out the day with beautiful spa pedicures and manicures with a paraffin treatment that was like none other I’ve had before and healed areas of dry skin I had been struggling with for months after just one treatment! They even gave us personalized gift bags at the end of the “Elizabeth Jacob Experience,” that were stocked with products that matched our different hair colors, skin needs and promotions to use in the future. Though I have been to nearly every spa in the Baltimore and Harford county area, I had truly never experienced anything like this before and certainly wasn’t given a gift bag for just being their customer. There wasn’t a detail that wasn’t thought through carefully or a need or want that they didn’t anticipate before I even thought of it. Though I was there nearly the entire day it was still better priced than all of the “packages” from the big name spas in the same area. Stop looking anywhere else and find your oasis during an unprecedentedly hard year at the Elizabeth Jacob Spa & Salon. The location, beautiful and historical space and amazing expertise of everyone you might work with does not even compare. Plus let me remind you that they take spa-finder gift cards, which are no longer accepted at many of the locations previously enrolled. They also managed to find a sweet spot between pandemic conscious safety measures while also allowing maximum comfort. I plan on taking more pictures when I go back next time, but in the meantime pick up the phone right now and book your escape at this self-care Mecca! (Note – I was not incentivized in anyway for this review. They were just that awesome!)Services: Waxing, Haircut, Hairstyling, Skin treatments, Manicure, PedicureI noticed the Elizabeth Jacob Spa a couple of years ago on SpaFinder & waited far too long to go.If you’re reading this right now, so have you!
