Critical: ProfessionalismThe stylist the tall dark skin lady that did my hair use an excessive amount of heat, she is very loud rude and aggressive. I kept asked her not to do that but she kept talking Spanish with the other ladies. I was so frustrated about my visit, it’s sad because all the times I’ve come here I’ve never encountered this type of service. As a result of her unprofessional behavior and all the heat my hair fell out when I washed it. I kept telling her it smelled burned and she said it was the brush, I was so afraid to wash my hair so I waited two weeks and when I did it was just coming out by the handful. So disappointing. I plan on letting them know asap. I have to cut my long hair now because of this. I refuse to have dried hair and fried ends that’s not healthy. The stylist the tall dark skin lady that did my hair use an excessive amount of heat, she is very loud rude and aggressive. I kept asked her not to do that but she kept talking Spanish with the other ladies. I love the experience every time I go to get my hair done they always leave me feeling beautiful and my hair feeling healthy and silky. My blowouts last at least 2 to 3 weeks when I go get it done at Elegante!! I always recommend my family and friends to go there as well. I cannot wait for my next blow out. Blowouts

Hands down the best salon I’ve been to in VA. I haven’t had a blow out inna while. They got me in n out the heat wasn’t too too hot my trim was on point and she styled my hair exactly like I asked her. She didn’t cut my hair as a trim at all. She even dried my shirt. The energy was awesome everyone was nice. I have tried many salons and was disappointed. Reminds me of my home salon back in Cleveland . I am finally happy to say I found a salon home.

BEWARE! USE YOUR OWN SHAMPOO AND PRODUCTS. A chemical (like relaxer) to loosen the curl on natural hair was put into the shampoo of my daughters hair. She has been natural all 16 years of her life. I am a licensed cosmetologist so I immediately noticed the strong odor coming from my daughters hair after her washing her hair and breakage. At that very moment I knew chemicals were used in her hair. That should never be done to a client with out their permission in order to make work easier for the stylist. We used to visit often but this last time was the last straw. Healthy hair should be the focus but this not the place for that. They are more concerned about the dollar. They are not to be trusted! We will never return and I will make sure others are aware.

I wouldn’t go back to them i naturally have curly hair, they straighten my hair back in November here it’s is January and my curls have not return, I’ve washed my hair multiple times and could smell the scent of relaxer. One of the most upsetting things ! Haven’t had a relaxer In 17 years !!

I’ve been coming here for 2 years and they’ve always treated me well. Today I came in and my hair was knotted from a bun i had , Francesca was pulling my hair apart LITERALLY , instead of using a comb , i then requested the comb so i can detangle it myself. She then brushed me off and sat elsewhere , she called over Marta and marta came to assist me and detangled my hair in 5 mins , she took care of me there on and ofc I had to tip her for actually wanting to help . I don’t normally have a problem here but I will be using Marta going forward

I’ve been coming here since I was 14 and I’m 26. A couple of the staff from back then have stopped working, but they still do good. Most of them use a comb for blowouts, but the round brush gives you better results. I ask for it, and they do it… you just have to speak up on how you want your hair. They seem to like to comb and brush dry hair, I always have to stop them and tell them to put water first. Do not let anyone comb or detangle your curls before putting water and conditioner on it! That’s why your hair breaks off after the heat. Also, you should never go straight from a wash to the seat.. always get rollers!!! Your hair will burn and break if its wet when you get your blowout. Natural or not get rollers… only salon I go to in the 757 for blowouts on my kinky curly hair. Only complaint I have is them changing/upping the price every time I go in. It’s been like that the whole 12 years..
